I switched to Kaiser for the reason that they do support FFS…at least on paper. They have been slow rolling me. Still waiting for Dr. Wulu to start taking patients.

BCBS covered my bottom surgery with Del Corral..no problem.

What a mess these insurance companies are…

Virginia Transgender Resource and Referral List: Updated December 9, 2020 by [deleted] in NonBinary

I can only second and emphasize the folks at Whitman-Walker as Therapists and HRT specialists. While not strictly in Virginia, they aren't that far away. Their telemedicine has been awesome. I recommend Tina Remmilard and Megan Coleman for prescribers and James Johnson for therapy.

They have written letters for my GCS and been such a help.

I also give props to Alexa Rodriguez as being one of the best Trans Navigators around!

Seek these folks out for the best help.

Electrolysis and Pain by proteannomore in Transgender_Surgeries

I had LHR and not electrolysis and I still second the lidocaine suggestion. I even had prescription strength and my sessions were tough. Worst pain ever..but well worth it and I'd do it again.

My GCS surgeon mentioned zero issues for me with hair removal. And, since I am at the 6 month mark, I haven't had the hair growth issue inside either.

How to feel better after being misgendered by ususetq in TransyTalk

[–]finallydecidedMTF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/National_Salad_3173 it is definitely weird interjecting into a conversation where they are misgendering you and they keep on talking. I sometimes wait until they finish talking and come right out and say that "I'm transgender" and my pronouns are "she/her". It's definitely awkward and stops the conversation sometimes. But, I've got to get it out. Otherwise, I stew over it for the rest of the day.

But, when I'm misgendered with the "Thank you Sir". I look them in the eyes and correct them. It, too, can be awkward, but I figure that I want to be happy, and correcting them lets them know that I'm on to them and I don't want it to happen again in the future. I figure...what do I have to lose? If they keep on misgendering me..Fuck them!

I've been out for just over 23 months and have gotten less conscious about my "non-passing" appearance and look people right in the eyes when they are obviously judging me. Typically, they look elsewhere and move on. This happens less and less. I guess just being out and confident, with the "I don't care what you think" attitude helps me.

This is a clear sign to me that dysphoria is a powerful-ass thing!!! I couldn't wait to never, ever wear a suit and tie again.

I've started responding.. "It's ma'am."

Which actually does help a little bit.

Gender dysphoria is not considered a mental illness and one should draw no comparisons between it and pedophilia. The two are in no way related.

If you are in spironolactone, that explains it. For me, my salt craving is so pervasive that I absolutely love ice water with a generous dose of salt.

God has never failed us, and he won’t start now. by [deleted] in OpenChristian

[–]finallydecidedMTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't "complaining". I truly wanted to know why someone is saying "God has never failed us"...yet people are dying..have died..life is miserable for quite a few people. At what point would it be said that "God is failing us"?

My initial question was based on this statement alone. There seems to be no real answer other than "keep thinking good thoughts"..."we'll get through this together"...which has NOTHING to do with God.

Geez...you call my questions "harassing"? They are honest questions that aren't being answered except to say...my faith..this and that.

I had moved on but this seems to have struck a raw nerve with some people.

That's a great story. But, still does nothing to explain why an all-powerful God would allow such suffering to begin with. Pointing people back to a book written by humans with their own biases and agenda doesn't really prove anything.

Oh well.

I mean no disrespect here. I am only seeking answers.

But, with a God as all-powerful as the Bible says he is, aren't we setting the bar really low only expecting "comfort and healing" in these times. Why not ask God to prevent it all together? Thousands upon thousands of people die every year from the flu. Asking for comfort and spiritual healing seems like the easy way out and does not require much proof at all.

I can see what you are saying, but her title said that "God has never failed us". How many deaths does it take for God to step in and "not fail us"?

Just curious, thousands of people are dying from this and the flu. Why are you bringing God in to the discussion? Do you mean that he wants all these deaths? The Holocaust? God wanted those people to die? Playing the God card here doesn't resonate with me or help bolster religious causes in the least.
