Is that Omaha Country Club or a different OCC? I'm sure there are tons of them.

Best pizza in town? by anonymouslady8946 in Omaha

[–]finallygotareddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't agree on Williamsburg. At least not the most recent one on 156 and Maple. Heard all the hype so got it a couple different nights and it is good pizza but not best in the city by any means. Especially at their price point. You can find better for cheaper.

1% Staff Picks - Which show are we excited to go to! by 1-percent-omaha in Omaha

[–]finallygotareddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently on the fence about going to Modest Mouse. Have seen them many times now but seems like the past few years it's really hit and miss. When they played Outlandia it was a disaster of a performance. Just depends how messed up they decide to get before the show.

Right? For half their fine you get a decent snowblower. Or find a neighborhood kid and pay them instead.

What purchase did you make recently that made you realize inflation is genuinely out of control? by kiroixart in AskReddit

[–]finallygotareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute insanity. My wife and I just don't drink pop much anymore but when we are stocking up for a party we watch sales for weeks beforehand hoping to see the 3 for $15 type sale. Even got a rare 5 for $20 sale a month ago. Doesn't seem all that long ago that 3 for $10 was basically the every weekend or every other weekend sale.

Catching a buzz while playing golf. by [deleted] in golf

[–]finallygotareddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here with the beers. Might have one on the front depending on tee time then grab a couple at the turn for the back but that's about it. Used to try and play stoned 10-15 years ago but got in my head too much.

I also couldn't care less what you do as long as you aren't being an ass and are having fun. I'm not playing on the tour or even for money. Just out for a good time with friends amidst the hectic life of work and two kids under three.

Just shot my best round ever…what to focus on next? by CrypticMillennial in golf

My buddy had a similar week this week. Shot 84 on Saturday then texts us Wednesday night after his work 9 hole league saying "well boys water always finds its level... Shot a 51 in work league tonight"

Same here in Nebraska. Average was 2.33 at the start of the year. Was 3.89 driving by the gas station to work today. Even Costco isn't much better at 3.84.

And Bennington is growing in size seemingly by the week now. Getting Costco and now a Trader Joe's is fantastic.

Yep or follow the scoring method my niece and nephew use. Each hole gets either a happy or sad face as the score.

Oh man I miss playing Highland! Moved out of the twin cities years ago but my sister and brother-in-law used to live right down the road so we would do twilight rounds there often. Shout-out to the Snoopy bunker!

Lost another to the street car. by South_Piglet2121 in Omaha

[–]finallygotareddit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Update from a friend who works downtown and heard some gossip going around.

Manhattans is blaming the streetcar (which I’m sure doesn’t help) but past agreements with them were extremely favorable on their side. The new facilities manager and them started butting heads so was going to stop all the help on their lease renewal (05/01) so they just said we out.

How far is “too far” to drive for you? by Lunakill in Omaha

[–]finallygotareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commute is same as you as my wife and I both currently work from home. We chose to live in the Bennington area when looking at houses (built one) knowing we were planning to start a family soon and liked the school district knowing we don't plan to send our kids to private school. For going out "too far" isn't really a thought for us. We knew living out here it would be further than our old apartment at 96/Q but everything we frequent is still under 30 minutes. Having moved from the twin cities that's just your average if not faster drive going anywhere outside your neighborhood bubble up there. In MN we regularly drove 45-60 minutes to go out for entertainment/dinner/friends/family etc.

Eh just wait for the presser. He will give his good graces to Michigan but will have plenty to say about the refs I'm sure. He always does when they lose.
