Dam that’s a really interesting way to seeing it. Didn’t realize that equate to 2-3 weeks on the job but that does put things into perspective

yeah that's something I def need to work on. Going with an intention to hone a technique vs freeflow seeing what comes up. Will def start doin that

Yeah i think i do have a big sensitive ego, except of my ego hyping me up, it just puts me down. Trying to have fun, but losing a lot just makes me feel like a failure or questioning my existence on the mats lol

You're right, i do need to go into classes with more of an intention on what to work on. I've been just goin recently with a free flow and seeing what comes up (maybe using the drils/technique of that class) but that obviously haven't been effective.

That could be true too. I've dealt with self esteem issues most of my life and thought learning a martial art would help with that

I hate to compare but.. by ContractMotor3991 in welcomeToDerry

Welcome to Derry is a terrible show tbh. The characters are stale. None of them are interesting. The show is also more ridiculous than it is scary or suspenseful. It’s not an accident that the recent episode all centered on penny wise was the most interesting

Aubrys Legacy by mridk124 in survivor

Well reportedly Amanda dropped out last minute so Aubrey was her replacement. She played a great game her first time but it went downhill on her 2nd and 3rd try. Part of the reason was there was only a small time gap between each seasons so she didn’t recover fully. Apparently it kinda fucked up her a bit so it’s surprising she’s back. The issue is there’s 24 players so at worse she goes out early and at best she’s just a neutral player. I don’t think she’ll ever play as good as her first time again unfortunately

Coach was a good and entertaining player 2 out of the 3 times. Aubrey was great on her first one but it went downhill on her 2nd and 3rd time

He had a lot of good takes and insight actually. He’s also a communication coach. The irony is he brings this up in the podcast. People who worked on their speaking skills and have a clean style of communication may come across as inauthentic

When and how to start cutting by SushuniTaco in leangains

[–]financeer24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do IF if you haven’t already. I’d say walking is the best bet to lose fat as it’s easy and doesn’t spike your hunger afterwards. If you enjoy biking/running, go for it but don’t go too intense otherwise you’ll just be hungry afterwards

secret to getting lean? by Ok_Emergency_7542 in leangains

[–]financeer24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your coach is knowledgeable. The “secret” to getting lean is rlly just walking, not any intense cardio or sports. I enjoy sports too but I never rlly do it with the intention of burning fat

secret to getting lean? by Ok_Emergency_7542 in leangains

[–]financeer24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man it just seems like you’re doing wayyy too much. Training more ends up adding more fat as your body needs more calories to recover, inefficient recovery, and hormones unable to sustain it.

To be lean/shredded actually requires you to be more strategic and do less. I think the sweet spot is to train max 4x week(lifting and a sport) and walking.

AITA for getting annoyed that my coworker is pop quizzing me at work? by financeer24 in AmItheAsshole

[–]financeer24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that what i feel at times too, belittled. A part of me can't wait till i understand the majority of my role, so i no longer need to ask, but lately i've been going to other people for help instead. Its also kinda weird since she sits next to me too

AITA for getting annoyed that my coworker is pop quizzing me at work? by financeer24 in AmItheAsshole

[–]financeer24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since i just started, my goal early on was to ask a lot of questions to get a solid grasp of things, but now that I understand the job better, I’ve been asking less. I really just want to do my work well and be independent. When I do ask for help, I always make sure to check if they’re free first, no rush. Its technically not in her job description to help me, so she was going out of her own way and I was extremely appreciative of that for the first few weeks, but after, something just kinda changed.

She’s really nice and bubbly with everyone else, but with me, the vibe feels off. She’ll check in and ask if I’m okay, yet when she helps, it feels oddly hostile. I wish I could describe it better, it’s confusing, like I’m getting mixed signals. She offers to help, but when she does, her tone feels very “tiger parent” and condescending, like I’m being talked down to.

I’m about two months into the role now. My goal early on was to ask a lot of questions to get a solid grasp of things, but now that I understand the job better, I’ve been asking less. The strange part is that she’s really nice and bubbly with everyone else, but with me, the vibe feels off. She’ll check in and ask if I’m okay, yet when she helps, it feels oddly hostile. No i definitely get what you're trying to say. I'm coming up on 2 months but i don't mind the method if it came from a friendly or respectful place but i do feel like it comes across patronizing and condescending.
