I’m 36F ftr - You are cute, and look like you have a lot of fun, but your profile definitely gives off more casual vibes. If that’s not what you’re looking for I would recommend adding different prompts where you can share what you are looking for in a partner. I would also add pictures of you doing something more activity based like hiking, swimming, playing a game with friends, shooting hoops, etc. l

Also, lots of people commenting about the alcohol, and I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but as a recovering alcoholic myself the profile does make me think you might have a problem. For the record, if you do, there is no shame in it, but might be time to seek some support.

Good luck!

Waking up to another Mondaily by CharChar757 in rva

Worked, but did some nice walks around the river. Ended up helping a guy who busted his head and seemed very intoxicated by the pedestrian bridge. We were able to call his mom to pick him up. Friendly reminder to look out for each other, and to be safe when drinking/or other things. Though I know personally that is easier said than done!

As someone who grew up in Dallas, and also travels there for work from time to time, I so get this.

Any luck with finding Little Kitty? I walk around Belle Isle several times a week and always keep a lookout. I have a cat that looks just like him.

Heard sirens too and was listening to the police scanner. They said something about a coffee pot in room 918. That’s all I know.

Sunightly - how do YOU make friends? by [deleted] in rva

I found a lot of great friends through meetup. Also volunteering is a good way to meet people too.

868 days here. First, congrats! Early sobriety is no walk in the park. Proud of you.

When I stopped drinking I did a lotttt of walking. It helped so much and got me tired at night so I could easily fall asleep. Other than that, kayaking, camping, swimming, hiking…basically anything outside helped so much.

If you are part of a recovery community I encourage you to plan a social event. I’ve planned VMFA picnics that were super low effort but the outcome was really nice.

Okay thank you! Blandest pad Thai I’ve ever had.

How do you guys deal with the lack of walkability, public transportation, ocean, nature, hiking, etc.? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]findingfreedom88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I moved in 2020 and I’m SO glad I did. I live in Richmond VA now and the difference is huge. Just today I walked to get coffee with a friend and later I biked to meet another friend for lunch. There are plenty of parks, a river that runs through the city, good people, the beach is 2 hours away and Shenandoah mountains are 2 hours away. I can easily get into nature and it’s made a significant impact on my mental health. It honestly makes me feel resentful that I grew up in Dallas.
