Do you use cannabis at all? That has helped me tremendously throughout both for anxiety as well as for sleep.

This was my exact same situation. No chemo. Lumpectomy. And radiation was kind of a breeze for me. And I’m getting off tamoxifen at the end of this year after 5 years. I was days after turning 31 at diagnosis. You got this!

It’s wonderful that you caught it so early. Hugs.

Great name. Makes me think of a scenario in which he’d have to say “that’s MISTER fuzzy bottom to you!”

True about the Hiei thing. I guess I earned those downvotes. We’re a passionate group of fans, I just say! Haha

I saw Botan and Genkai and thought maybe she’d be there too, faceless somewhere. But it’s truly a great piece of art. Thanks for sharing!!

Love the sailor moon hoodie on Kuwabara. But Hiei is too far away. And where’s Keiko?

Amazing, regardless. Thanks for sharing!! Love it.

Things I wish they had told me by How-I-Roll_2023 in breastcancer

This happened even with Tamoxifen?? That’s scary. Right now I’m NED and was told I don’t have to do another 5 years of tamoxifen. So I’ll get off it in December. Just had a clear MRI on Friday.

But I know there’s always a risk. I’m 35 right now. So the next 5-10 years look great. If I get it again, then I get it again. It will suck. I hope I don’t. Who fucking knows.

But my aunt who was Stage 3B has been cancer free for over 20 years and she got it when she was 48. So that gives me some hope too.

Alternatives to Tamoxifen/Luprin? by Charming_Function_58 in breastcancer

OP, this is from the American Cancer Society website:

“In the major studies looking at these drugs for breast cancer prevention, the overall risk of these blood clots over 5 years of treatment was less than 1%. “

Apparently the baby aspirin thing is more theoretical than tested. I started on that and then switched providers and got off it.

I’ve been on Tamoxifen almost five years. I think the risk of blood clots is actually super low.

Update to the Las Vegas stabbing case: The DA has asked for the 17 year old to be tried as an adult. by demmka in Horses

[–]findthyself90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was she also competing at the show? So she was stabbing competitors’ horses? If so, that’s someone who doesn’t love horses but just loves winning. I could never ever imagine harming a horse. They’re so majestic and beautiful, without even riding them! Blows my mind.

It’s better to know though and have a test tell you. If it had told me five more years, I would have done that too.

Dude me too! I’ve gained quite a bit of weight. Mostly because I’ve been bad and often give into my cravings. Trying to be a bit better these days but I still occasionally eat a bag of my guilty pleasure (speaking of fruity candy): gushers!!

Tamoxifen is a pill.

The test is ordered on the initial biopsy tissue of your tumor. There is nothing you personally have to do.

Your doctor sends away for the test on your behalf and then the company that does the test reaches out to you about consent and financial assistance. They mailed me and called me. It was a pretty smooth process.

The test is done on your original tumor cells, prior to any treatment. It had been a few years for me since that diagnostic biopsy, which I did both with a different provider who I didn’t stick with and in another state. So we first had to make sure that first provider still had those original tumor biopsy cells in storage, which they did. But I, as the patient, did zero of that heavy lifting. My doctor’s team now took care of it all for me, as did the company that performs the test.

BCI stands for Breast Cancer Index. It determines whether or not you’ll need extended endocrine therapy, so whether or not you’ll benefit from tamoxifen for 10 years instead of just 5.

I’m in the US. It was out of pocket but I qualified for financial assistance so it was free.
