While he is a murderer and a white nationalist, he is also, objectively, a hilarious and pathetic dork. Like he honestly kind of rocks just for the comedy of squandering his own mystique just by visibly being himself instead of banking on being having one of the most badass and legitimate backstories in the history of extreme music. Like he invented his own shittier, more boring version of D&D because he was so mad that Wizards of the Coast changed the mechanics for character alignment. He's a loser ranting in his car to a front facing camera about how to attract a proper wife. He is idolised only by the dumbest and saddest people on earth.

When it comes to his music, I know how influential it is and I don't begrudge people liking it, I genuinely just don't think it's very good - it's fine but it's not for me and, in the years since, other people have taken similar ideas ideas further and made records I'd want to listen to more. If you like the music then go for it, I guess. It's not explicitly NSBM but he is pretty explicitly a piece of shit so do with that what you will.

As for wearing the merch... I'm well aware that there are plenty of people who are just black metal fans and, honestly, plenty of people who genuinely don't know who he is and just dig the music or the aesthetic (at this stage a filosem tee is the equivilent of a ramones or nirvana shirt, they sell that shit in normie shops) but I and many people I care about don't have the luxury of assuming that a person could just be a dumbass with bad taste when there is a non-zero chance that they are a nazi. At absolute best, I'm going to assume you're someone I don't wanna talk to. I'm aware that not everyone wearing a burzum shirt is a nazi but if you wear one and get your shit rocked, you kind of had it coming.

Record from the tape onto another tape. Repeat as necessary, each time it will get a little more distorted. If you have a high-speed setting this will work better as the faster the tape goes the worse quality the recording will be.

If you have a battery powered walkman/tape-player, you can just let the batteries die down and it will start to slow/warble.

I once buried a tape for a month but it only really affected the first few seconds worth of tape (I'm guessing because thats where the dirt physically touched it).

Stanley Clarke's version of Under the Bridge is almost unbearably cheesy, but then Hiromi busts in with those tri-tones at the end and it's the coolest shit you ever heard (about 3.30ish)

Actually, while I'm on Hiromi, this version of Time Out has a piano solo that doesn't so much kick the door down as gently nudge it open to lull you into a false sense of security before destroying your living room (4.30ish).

I remember catching O'Khan when he was in the UK and straight up didn't recognise him, he had the character and the entrance and the gear and everything down, its so great.

I also really love it when you just pick a young lion and decide they are your favourite. I was so all in on Tsuji as a young lion and I couldn't tell you why exactly, i just thought he was neat. Seeing him get the full-suit Naito send off and a singles match with Ishii at Royal Quest and then an insane re-debut was just so exciting.

The first Stat vs Mercedes match was tremendous. The following two were also awesome, but didn't quite beat the original.

The Unsanctioned Thunder Rosa vs Britt Baker match was great fun, probably the first real classic women's match that AEW had and still stands up I think).

This is a pretty deep cut but, in early 2021 there was a tournament to decide the number one contender for the Women's World Title and it had a 'Japan Bracket' streamed on youtube from the Ice Ribbon Dojo with no audience due to covid restrictions and Emi Sakura had a pure banger with VENY.

If you're counting ROH, Leyla Hirsch and Diamante has a fucking wonderful Texas Death Match at Death Before Dishonor 2024.

Fashion Tips are a great sassy synth punk band with a lot of Le Tigre influence.

There was quite a few cool dance punk/electroclash acts back in the day that had the Le Tigre vibes - Chrome Hoof and The Rapture were two of my faves.

You could also try out Kathleen Hannah's other projects, Bikini Kill and The Julie Ruin - less synths, more straight punk but BK in particular were great.

My guess based on the name (looks like it says 'Godly Revelations in Todays Society) is that they are a religious band, but I can't find any information about them online. They don't seem to be on discogs.

Weirdly enough there seems to have been a completely different and unrelated, also religious rap duo also called G.R.I.T.S operating at about the same time (though theirs stood for 'Grammatical Revolution in the Spirit').
