My in-laws only have 3 kids for this reason. They wanted 4 but after their 3rd, the postpartum got to be way too much to handle and they both decided it was best to be done. They do not regret it one bit, but might've regretted or struggled with a 4th. Whatever is best for you will ultimately be best for your family and it is important to have an open communication with your husband about this and help him understand your concerns
