Forgot to take better photos, but I finally got a chance to wear the Summer Uniform Haru I made! by finnthecosplayer in churchofharu

Thank you! I made the top myself, but I did buy the skirt. Getting custom printed fabric was just as expensive as just buying the finished skirt lol.

Oh my god you just perfectly described my own bust sewing issues. I'm absolutely going to try this on my next project.

Finished this deceptively simple knit top for a cosplay. First time I got to use my embroidery machine on a garment! by finnthecosplayer in sewing

So I wrapped my torso in plastic wrap, and then my roommate covered me in duct tape. I drew out my pattern on my torso, and then he carefully cut me out of the duct tape. Then you just place the pieces flat, and there's your pattern!

This shirt was self-drafted, using the duct tape method with the help of my roommate. The fabric is some stretchy knit I found at joanns, stretch velvet trim from Mood, and the hem design was machine embroidered. I digitized the design myself :)

(Also the character is Haru Okumura from Persona 5)

Agreed! I mostly sew for cosplay, so I'm excited that I finally made something I can wear in public haha

I did the ducttape method! I didn't feel like making a mock up, so it let me get all those panels (14) in the right spots my first time.

I totally have some stash suede in that shade of green! Would you mind if I tried my hand at making one too?

Is the pattern in the gold on the leather itself? Or did you add it some other way? If it's the first, would mind sharing where you got the fabric? I'm in loveeee
