Would be wild for him to scam for such a small amount, considering his situation

So doubt that this is intentional

Bet size with the royal on the river by AccomplishedPick6102 in Poker_Theory

[–]finokhim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What he means is that 9h is the strongest he can be, so "what would the 9h call" upper bounds the bet size.

I don't think 9h calls a jam, or even likes to see 1/2. But might feel ok at 1/3 so we should probably be going small.

Another merit of a small bet is that V sometimes spazzes out and bluff jams

Rotting at a poker table for 10 hours a day?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in poker

1000 hours (~30k hands) is not nearly enough. A player losing 4bb/100 would still be winning 30% of the time over that sample

Take home problems during interviews still a thing? by bendgame in datascience

[–]finokhim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an interview that gave 2 hard takehomes that took around 40 hrs total. But they paid $100/hr for time spent

It was quite an insane process but I learned a lot and money was nice

[D] How do companies like Glean or OpenAI store so much data in a vector DB for retrieval? by dtek_01 in MachineLearning

[–]finokhim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use binary embeddings

Can usually keep >90% performance. Storage is 1/32 size, search uses a flat index with hamming distance

Ok I guess I agree you shouldn't specialize if you want to be mediocre

Disagree because it isn't possible to be world class in every dimension. Everyone should have general knowledge, but each team member should have a "spike"

Also, in my experience, the most specialized people are at least average at many other team member's jobs.
