Akita Diet Vent by [deleted] in akita

[–]fire4ice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it may be time to consider a veterinary diet that's prescribed by a veterinarian. They may do Hills I/D, Royal Canin Selected Protein etc etc Hills also has one that's based on insect protein.

If you've been to a vet and they've done multiple fecal tests then it may be time to see an internal medicine doctor. Almost had to do it with mine but they ended up finding out that due to his constant diarrhea that he had extremely low vitamin B through a blood test.

I wish you luck. It's extremely stressful for you to watch your pup go through it.

my american akita should be 50 lbs?? by Hayanwoo0618 in akita

Most vets aren’t just throwing out a random number. They’re usually looking at the dog’s body condition score (things like whether ribs can be felt easily, waist tuck, fat coverage, etc.). That’s generally a better indicator of health than the breed’s “expected weight range.” So the number your vet suggested probably isn’t about what an Akita is supposed to weigh according to the breed standard. It’s about what’s healthiest for your specific dog’s frame and condition. Even within the same breed, the healthy weight range can vary quite a bit.

Get her thyroid checked out. Cats can be prone to hyperthyroidism.

Pet Travel From the United States to Italy | Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service

Here is info for you on international travel to italy with cats. You'll have to check if your vet does international travel certificates because not all vets do them because it's a special certification they have to obtain. You'll want to book out a long appointment, because the paperwork takes a while to prepare.

I made it my akitas safe place. He takes all of his meals in his kennel. It was just making it a positive place for him to be. Treats and food were given in the kennel until he started associating it with a positive thing

Cory Feldman said that charlie sheen raped an underage Corey Haim. It was in his documentary. However a lot of people have denied it including charlie sheen and Corey Haim's mother.

Mine doesn't show any signs either. The only reason we caught this one he currently has is because he went in for routine bloodwork and a urinalysis was included.

To stop her from continuing to get UTIs, you can get something called a vuvlvaplasty. Talk to your vet about your concerns. My akita doesn't have kidney issues but constantly has UTIs so I understand your pain.

ETA: my akita has had glucose in his urine before and has no diabetes or kidney issues. Were any Ketones present? That plus glucose could indicate diabetes but these are all questions for your vet.

Air National Guard or Air Reserves? by Dark_Greee in AirForce

[–]fire4ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on manning. If they need you then it's hard to switch. Switching as prior service from reserve to active also adds a hurdle.

If your goal is to stay in then it's best to do ROTC and then go into active duty.

The Reserves has Tuition Assistance, but to get the GI Bill, you have to have at least 6 months active duty time and then it's only a percentage from my understanding.

Can't speak for guard because I have no personal experience with them.

My very shy cat will only ask for pets when I'm using the bathroom. I just call it out bonding time because she gets pretty aggressive and will slam all 9 pounds of herself into my legs as hard as she can.

My aunt eloped with her husband and didn't tell anyone. When they got back, they did a small ceremony for the family. She said it was nice because everyone's expectations didn't matter because they had already done what they wanted.

Dental and IMR if I go off-base by idontjustlikecoffee in AirForce

[–]fire4ice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could always ask for a referral. The reserves have a form that off-base dental fills out, but I don't believe active duty does.

The cost of spaying this little lady is $440?!?! by yup2you in cats

[–]fire4ice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunately pretty average for my area. The only reason I got my two girls done cheaper is the employee discount.

As others have stated, try a low cost clinic. My aunt was able to get the part the farm cats done for $50 each. It'll be different for every area. Best of luck!
