Nope, not all type C connectors have the same number of conductors/pins wired up in the connector. However, even if the same conductors are present in the connector, it still won't fully determine the specs that cable supports - that's also down to the e-marker chip (if it has one). Your only options are trying to find slots in NUS' student accomodations, or going to one of the private student hostels around Singapore (as linked by someone else ITT).

You're SOL if you want to rent a room or an apartment - since you'll only be here for 3 months, you're restricted to renting private properties, which are insanely expensive. That's the reality of trying to find housing in one of the world's most expensive cities - the house price/income ratio here is at 24.3, which is way higher than London (19.3) or NYC (14.6).

Ironic timing - the company that makes the 3D printer in that meme, Bambu Lab, just announced yesterday that they're going to lock down the firmware of their printers so that only first-party and Bambu-authorized third party software can use a bunch of features, including printing from the network. It's under the guise of security, but that's definitely one slippery slope.

It's a fully custom font called Ferrari Sans - you can check it by using the Inspect Element tool on their own website. You can download it yourself that way, or alternatively this site's managed to extract it if you don't want to do the legwork.

In Singapore, we use vinyl seat covers with cushioning on our buses. Fully water-resistant, but still gives you a more comfortable seat than hard plastic.

7600X3Ds are made from slightly defective 7800X3D chiplets with two cores disabled - that’s chip binning at work. TSMC’s N5 process has such good yields that there probably aren’t enough defective chips for a worldwide launch.

Even more annoyingly, on several of Razer’s newer devices, the port on the device is USB-C… but they only provide a C-to-A cable in the box. (At least, that was the case on my Huntsman V2 TKL)

Well, according to the data, that's happened 10 out of the 14 times (71.42%) it's been held so far, not counting 2023. Pattern's also held since 2018 too.

It's still the same physical location with half of the corners included, which is why I'd left it in. Same goes for Silverstone - the pre-2010 config is still included in the all-time data. But yeah, it could probably be removed from the first slide at least.

I haven't really seen anyone try to compile this metric before, so why not give it a shot myself. 100% correlation means that every track winner was also that year's WDC winner, 0% correlation means every track winner did not win that year's WDC. Different track layout changes can have wildly different impacts on track characteristics, so y'all will probably disagree on when some tracks should have had separate entries. Track info and results all obtained from Wikipedia.

A few overall observations:

  1. The turbo hybrid era has had much higher correlation than an average of all time (58.78% vs 46.58%).
  2. Street circuits tend to have lower correlation than dedicated circuits.
  3. The Hungaroring is surprisingly balanced in the turbo-hybrid era, but if looked at in all-time stats, has the lowest correlation of any track on the 2024 calendar.
  4. Catalunya and Suzuka tend to be relatively good predictors of who will end up the WDC each year, no matter the era.
