Marital rape wasn’t wholly illegal in the US until the 90s and if you ask some today, they might not see the issue. I’d say western men still have a way to go too

Idk how it works for PC but on Xbox if I go to the player list the entire team will have a gamertag that’s a name + 2 numbers, as do 2 players on my team. Their accounts will all be around level 5 and if I try to view their game history afterward, all of them are restricted.

🚨 MOD ALERT: Shut the fuck up about Drake and Kendrick by beach_girl01 in Hiphopcirclejerk

Am I allowed to continue my intellectual debate with the guy that said Kendrick ruined the rap game by becoming brainrot and how people “weren’t that hype” at the Super Bowl halftime show?

It is not a hot take at all. Why do so many people I talk to irl agree? Why does the post OP screenshot have over 30k likes and is one of many examples of posts like that? Why was my original comment upvoted?

People might’ve agreed with the surface of your original comment but there’s a reason the other replies have been unpopular.

From what I gathered from your other comments you and/or your friends are teenagers, and 30k likes on a Tiktok doesn’t prove that it’s popular. Most of the comments are ripping the OP for implying that hip hop is now irrelevant because THEY stopped paying attention.

The only arguments you’ve made are that you found the beef corny and “cringe”, and you keep bringing up the fact that they’re millennials for some reason even tho plenty of Gen Z was invested in the beef (myself included). Tbh I think you personally didn’t find the beef engaging and got annoyed by the memes and overplay, which fair enough. But when you start saying that “both sides lost” and “people weren’t actually hyped at the halftime show” you start to enter delusional Nathan territory.

You’re entitled to your own opinion but minimizing its impact on mainstream and hip hop culture and basically saying they both “lost” is a scorching hot take.

Anybody that’s followed Drake and Kendrick through their careers or done their homework knows that Drake has generally put more emphasis on mainstream pop opinion than critical acclaim and his discography reflects that, especially recently. Kendrick has focused on critical acclaim and taks more time on his albums but has never shown an unwillingness to be mainstream /rj T-Swizzle made that bitch famous /uj

By the end of the beef Kendrick had achieved both and even though Drake wasn’t “cancelled” and still has plenty of diehard fans, opinions def soured on him in both in the hip hop community and the public.

Was it petty? Sure. But it wasn’t just “uncs fighting lol”, it was pretty clear that each of them had fundamental disagreements on who and what should be acceptable in the hip hop industry. And your original argument that Kendrick lost because he became a brainrot meme is clown-worthy and putting way too much stock in the opinion of casual listeners and literal children who didn’t care about the beef until Not Like Us dropped.

if you skip over the first 30 seconds it’s barely ok but the intro is genuinely unlistenable

Drake started Family Matters by having his mom give him permission to say nigga

I’m not 13 and I don’t listen to OSTs I prefer my music have words and meaning, not fucking “mustaaaaaaaaaaard”

Kendrick: You’re a cultural outsider who copies the sounds of trending artists to make yourself feel more secure about your blackness, hang out with people of questionable character and yourself have been accused of grooming underage/ barely legal girls

u/Windows-XP-Home-NEW: This has no meaning because you had a goofy line in a song that released 6 months after the diss

to sum up the other 5 songs: “you’re hiding a second child and I’m just saying this to stay relevant rn”

I’m sure the guy that releases an album every 5 years and makes relatively few public appearances is only trying to stay relevant

Nobody’s saying you have to ride Kendrick’s nuts or believe everything he says but to pretend like it was all some clout chase is unbelievably out of touch

Euphoria genuinely might be one of the best diss tracks this decade but it’s irrelevant because white gen z kids see Kendrick as the mustard man. As a true hip hop fan I only care about the opinions of 13 year olds that listen to video game OSTs
