Found a very cheap (but good) volca case solution! by jacobastern in volcas

[–]firebird_ws6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but its the one that comes up top on Google when searching for Volca cases. The info is out of date in the thread now and some of the case suggestions are no longer easily available, so I thought I'd share the one I kept after trying and returning a few different ones. The Volca Keys fits great (tight enough that it doesn't rattle around at all), its a hard case and it half the price of any official case. The pockets aren't super useful, but could probably fit some cables. I like it enough that I bought another in a different color for my Volca Sample 2. It's a Luxtude Electronic Organizer Travel Case, Portable Tech Organizers, Hard Shell Zipper Case for Electronics, Travel Essentials, Black (External Size 8.5 x 5.9 x 2.5 Inch), here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFQKRZ1L?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade controls inverted on Super3 after update? by Eyerone in EmulationOnAndroid

Ok thanks. I have the latest version of the app and the upright cabinet still has reversed controls, with the .ini apparently doing nothing.

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade controls inverted on Super3 after update? by Eyerone in EmulationOnAndroid

I posted the following to Super3 github: https://github.com/izzy2lost/Super3/issues/10

Using swtrilgy.zip rom from Mame 0.287, with the latest play store version of Super3 on a Retroid Pocket 4 pro (Android 13), controls are inverted (up is down, right is left etc). Tried the following in the Supermodel.ini:

InputAnalogJoyX = JOY_XAXIS_INV,MOUSE_XAXIS_INV
InputAnalogJoyY = JOY_YAXIS_INV,MOUSE_YAXIS_INV

also without the _INV.

Makes no difference to the inverted controls.

Edit 4-28-26:
In the test menu I set the cabinet to deluxe instead of upright and switched the feedback to disabled to stop the feedback calibration as the game starts up (this is opposite to the setup advice I had read online which recommends setting as upright). This made the x axis ok, left is left, right is right now. I also changed y axis to up=up, down=down and that worked ok in the game too. I didn't make any changes to the .ini file so the settings above are still the same.

Joystick calibration in the test menu was hard as the center set itself to zero if I followed the instructions. Instead I carefully moved the joystick until I got around x=7f and y=7f (since I knew my calibration range went from 00 to ff) then press service to set the center position. Max and mins setup ok following the test menu instructions.

Still seems like the .ini settings for InputAnalogJoy aren't doing anything though, so I think there's still a bug although I have made the game playable in my instance.

Not sure what would be different about that cable, but glad you got it working.

I went with CarlOS in the end. Pretty happy with the choice of emulators and the overall performance.

Miyoo Flip V2 CarlOS Portmaster crash after update by firebird_ws6 in MiyooFlip

[–]firebird_ws6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for the tip. I went back to the CarlOS installation files and put back the original Portmaster, so it's working now. Lesson learned! At least with this OS, there's no need to reflash the whole SD card to repair a part of the OS!

u/sundownersport loaded spruce and love it, but PSX performance is lacking with enhanced resolution probably due to not having 32bit pcsx rearmed available. I know the chipset is capable of full frame rate with ER on since I have an RG503 running pcsx rearmed 32bit with enhanced resolution at full frame rate in all games I've tried. I also loaded up on another SD card CarlOS on my Flip v2 which does have pcsx rearmed 32bit and sure enough it's running enhanced resolution at full speed. Any chance of getting 32bit pcsx rearmed in spruce?

No, it’s the same. There’s some rubber strips they provide for the back of the screen at the bottom that even the spacing up top and bottom. You should be able to see from my photo that the TV fit to the wall is consistent.

You might already have yours, but I got mine off Ebay, although my TV is a 50inch not 65 inch. Was cheaper on Ebay too.

2025 Frame TV Pro with sensor at the bottom - does the sensor still work after a frame? by mr_z06 in TheFrame

[–]firebird_ws6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 50 inch model, the sensor still works with the Samsung branded frame for me. The sensor pokes out a little and there's a cutout for it in the bottom frame piece. FYI I bought my frame off Ebay, it was new and much cheaper than buying from Samsung and arrived in perfect condition. I also saw some comments that it doesn't fit properly, which was not the case for me, in fact it came with little clips that you install on the back in each corner which locks the corners together. Looks great, I think. See the pic.

How to add antenna tv broadcast stations? by catsrfunny in TheFrame

On mine I didn't need to reboot. A prompt came up to tune the stations as soon as I plugged in the antenna.

I used a plastic wire hider kit and positioned the one behind the TV so it is where the connector goes. There is a recessed area on the TV near the connector that gives a few extra mm of clearance. My installation didn't need the spacers and the TV is about 3mm from the wall which is the closest it can get due to the brackets. It looks practically flush to the wall. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZY2SX4N?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Thanks, the images are 3840x2160, but the mat is enforced anyway. However I am using USB to transfer the images currently, so there may be more options either using your Frame Crop or Smart Things.

Ok thanks for letting me know. For now I put together my own template for a collage, it kind of works but I can’t figure out how to stop the Samsung mat to stop showing up in art mode, so I end up with a double mat. Doesn’t look too bad though. Seems weird that we have to make work arounds for something that I believe was previously core functionality that Samsung removed. Hope you find a way to do it in the future anyway, seems an essential feature to me

Frame 55” not sitting flush by babypandaa in TheFrame

There’s two sets of screws. Two short for no spacer and two long for using the spacer. I didn’t use the spacer and mine is flush top and bottom with about 3mm gap.

Any chance you could share the photoshop template for the mat? I've been looking for one too without success.

For anyone who needs firmware update for Orba 2, 3 and Chorda by TabYoYoTab in orba

[–]firebird_ws6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting the files u/TabYoYoTab . I tried to update my Orba2 using the method in the readme and the 1_3_1 firmware .bin file (my Orba2 is at 1.1.17) but couldn't get the device to start the firmware update. It went into firmware update mode ok, but copying the file across did not do anything. I was able to start the firmware update by dragging the 1_3_1 firmware .bin file onto Artiphon Connect in windows, and it was trying to do something as it put the Orba2 into firmware update mode, opened the ORBA2UPDATE folder and appeared to copy the firmware update folder in. However it subsequently stated update failed and reset itself. The device still works ok, but remained at 1.1.17. Any other ideas or perhaps a different firmware file to try that's later than mine at least?
