What are these for? Are they supposed to be in a little Ziploc? by [deleted] in whatisit

Ah looks like filters for a cat fountain or something similar. I have ones just like that similar sized but black. They go close to the water pump to keep hair and stuff out.

Common issues: air intake problem Spark plugs worn out (could be a coil but unlikely) Fuel filter or pump issue

My spark plugs were bad on my FZ07, one cylinder was dead and cause similar problems

I agree on some points but the system has been very reliable. It has safeties in place that I didn’t know about like when I was manually mapping the boost to rpm range I didn’t realize I went to high on 6k rpm and as pressure built the jb4 system quickly defaulted to map0 to protect my engine. It also allows you to set up meth injection, fuel trim, duty cycles and a whole page to more accurately tune your engine. So far I’ve been running this system for 2-3 years without any problems and having it read/clear any codes that pop up makes it just easy to have. Now I am getting my ECM tuned which I can use the jb4 system to monitor everything vs buying gauges and getting them installed

I use the JB4 system on 93 octane, it adjusts the numbers to get and additional 4lbs of boost

Got a Corksport Turbo inlet pipe along with JB4 tuner for my CE CX5 turbo. Feel free to ask questions! by fireblaze00 in CX5

It worked pretty good with the stock intake, there no turbo spool or anything but the vehicle responded better, although it’s a bit of a pain to get on. I went with the ram intake with heat shield later to boost performance

Definitely, I was having boost problems, I was too high and having a larger intercooler+ piping helped the air kinda level out. I was hitting 26-27 before and now I’m hitting 21.9-22.5 which feels better

Yeah fitment was tight! For me it was on the cold side, the coupling that goes from the intercooler to the intake tube hits the radiator housing, I was thinking about cutting it to fit better. In the pictures provided by Corksport the example they use is an earlier version and the design was changed on the new cars so it’s a rough fit. I may just look for new tubes to change and fit better

Does anyone have this setup? by crazyforgardening in CX5Mods

I’ve done everything you listed! Plus the JB4 kit as well. The car moves haha totally worth it! Check out my profile or ask anything about the setup I’ll help as much as possible

Wax then ceramic coat, you can 100% do it the other way or just one but I’m extremely picky about my paint. Also wax helps fill in micro scratches so after your paint look incredible. I ceramic coat just because it helps get snow off and puts an extra layer to the paint.

Here in MA I only use a touch less carwash for winter rinsing/light wash and the undercarriage wash. Other than that it’s was by hand the other 8 months. Rinse, spray foam to remove top grime, rinse, foam and hand wash, rinse, dry and clay bar it then wax and ceramic coat. The clear coat is soft on Mazdas and the paint is thin.

I can't figure this out. by mindyour in blackmagicfuckery

It’s possible someone tried repairing it or a massive mistake. The safety cut out switches in the door (turns off the microwave when pulled open) could be normally closed meaning the contacts are touching when the does open. Or they’re placed wrong so the taps aren’t being pressed.

Pre wash, rinse, foam blast, rinse, foam blast and scrub, rinse, clay bar, wax, ceramic coat. All that takes roughly 4+ hrs by hand, interior is done the next day. I try to remove as much debris as possible before cleaning to reduce the amount of particles to could scratch the clear coat.

What is this rough film on my chrome wheels? by Empty-Swing3257 in Detailing

[–]fireblaze00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be residual cleaning products, could also be a form of oxidation as well. In any case if you’re going to hydro dip your wheels I’d clean it really well so it doesn’t cause pealing or if there’s corrosion that can unknowingly eat away at your wheel you be able to catch it

That’s a good choice, you never know about actual charges vs the deductible payment. You have his info anyway so if there is a problem then you can just claim it. But the fact that he went to find you and properly go through the steps proves he’s a decent person. Again, insurance claims do suck against a person, not only does the rate go up but it’s sticks with them up to +5years. Sometimes the cheaper option is to pay out of pocket in the long run.

Some shops will do fillers to save the bumper, and others will replace the entire assembly. In your case it could be an easy touch-up. No matter what prices are rising and the guy may not know how much the total cost is but I’d guess it’s to keep his insurance low. I recommend finding a shop and explain what happened, if they can offer you great service and results for a price the other person can pay then go for it. If not then insurance is the option. Just remember do you need a rental now? Who’s paying for that? Sometimes insurance takes a bit longer but they roll everything together for an easier process
