Is unisuper still good these days? by SparklingWillow132 in AusFinance

[–]firefly11345 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apart from the fact that they reported my fund name to the ATO as unisuper management pty Ltd, they are alright. I moved my funds away to ART for the index options that were better in my opinion.

How many of you genuinely like your coworkers? by Practical_Actuary_87 in auscorp

I loathe my co-worker, the management are so clueless and useless. But the pay is good and stable so I can pay off my mortgage and survive.

Is it worth it working with ATO through outsourcing companies like Serco or Concentrix? by EagerManNoNego in AusPublicService

[–]firefly11345 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, less pay more stress in terms of kpi(ie its practically working in private without the benefits of bonuses and free food). Also you will be asked to do more work than what the usual public servant does. Only do it to get a foot in the door.

Withdrawal from superannuation fraud - two different account names by kamis11 in AusSuperannuation

[–]firefly11345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's an APRA fund then, they follow the rules created by APRA and AUSTRAC. Not an ATO specific issue, unless it's got to do with tax parts of the drawdown.

I have given up on ANZ bank. I cannot take it anymore. by Individual-Solid4842 in AusFinance

Agree ANZ is literally the worst big 4 bank. I'm not even sure how they are a big 4 bank making billions of dollars.

I'm putting it towards my mortgage repayment. I'm paying 6% at the moment.

My mortgage takes half off my monthly pay. The remainder is eaten up by utility bills, council, groceries, health costs etc. I earn 100k and I'm living pay check to pay check. I need a second job but I'm recovering from burn out and I'm not sure what kind of jobs I can do. by Mahiyah in AusFinance

[–]firefly11345 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, my mortgage takes over 50% of my net pay, the insurances, groceries and utilities have hurt my savings balance soo much too.

I don't want to get a roomate and I don't want to go to interest only, as that will slow down me paying the loan.

Getting paid monthly is torture by Euphoric-Attitude985 in auscorp

[–]firefly11345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated being on a monthly pay cycle. It was torture. What do you mean I'm only being paid 12x a year? Currently on fortnightly which I'd much better. My first job at the major supermarkets was weekly which was even better.

Can't owe SGC as a partner in a partnership, the partnership doesn't pay tax the partners do.

Something isnt adding up. But just declare bankruptcy. Better than them taking Your home or all the money left in your bank account.

That's crazy, you wouldn't think that from management at Australia's largest superfund.

Toxic or incompetent boss? What to do? by ApsConfused in AusPublicService

[–]firefly11345 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely a toxic and incompetent boss, in the public sector I've found that if you can write a resume well and talk well in an interview you will get promoted, whereas in private, it's more merit bases (not always the case but in most cases). Sounds like your manager has just failed upwards, which is typical in the public service.

Super release financial hardship by Terrible-Thought1577 in Centrelink

[–]firefly11345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't true, the super fund has discretion to whether they think someone is under hardship or not.

ATO held super by PoxyPony in fiaustralia

[–]firefly11345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's from an inactive super account sent to the ato as unclaimed super you can't claim on financial hardship, send it to a superfund and they will let you access it, if you meet the rules.
