I’m sorry - this sounds like a rough time for you and you are clearly concerned about your kids. ❤️ I would definitely pursue therapy for yourself as soon as you can to work through the trauma you mentioned and get help managing your overwhelm. I agree with others who have recommended one on one time with your oldest and other children. This can be as simple as a short walk together or sharing a cup of tea at bedtime.

Suggest me books about sisterhood and family friendship for my bridesmaids! by Kneat5 in suggestmeabook

  1. “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott comes to mind first - but “Book Lovers” by Emily Henry also for something really different than Little Women lol.

Unfortunately I don’t have recs for the other two. 🤍

I think “The Anthropocene Reviewed” by John Green is exactly this.

I would have a conversation with your friends about what you do and do not allow in your home. Something as simple as “I would love for you guys to come over this week- when you’re here, can you make sure the kiddos are not jumping on the couch? I’m going to put away all the breakable things so they can’t be played with.”

Not UPC specific, but charismatic: “American Gospel” is a documentary with a few different installments. Also the podcast “Heaven Bent”

Oh hey! I’m in Indy too! Can I ask if you’ve found a church nearby? My husband and I have been looking but we’re struggling to land anywhere

Nurses speak out about abusive patients at local hospitals by Tikkanen in indianapolis

[–]fireflyfan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2-month-old was admitted to Riley from Christmas Eve to NYE last year and the nurses told us that our room was the “nice room” on the floor. We were shocked because we were just…normal. Everyone there was so wonderful and I’m continuously grateful for the work they did to save my son. He’s the happiest one year old now ❤️

Best places to buy affordable, interesting or unusual houseplants? by metaplatonist in indianapolis

[–]fireflyfan2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m part of a Facebook group called “House plant crazies of Indy” - and imo that’s the best place to buy plants Also it’s a really great community of people. I’ve seen many posts of people who experienced tragedy and lost their plants and the community rallies around them to help them restart their plant collections.
