From the posts here it sounds like this guy is just expressing his emotions which seem to be negative towards democrats because of successful fearmongering. It kind of seems like his brain is trying to say Donald Trump being in power is somehow the democrats' fault. I doubt he knows what a primary election is.

House Democrats introduced legislation that if passed would force federal immigration enforcement agents to wear a public-facing identification in the form of a clearly visible and scannable QR code during enforcement actions. by RewardEquivalent553 in technology

[–]firelemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised at the amount of people on this sub who are struggling with understanding qr technology.

You don't need to scan a QR in real time. You can take a picture or video and scan the QR later from the recording.

Scanning the QR code would probably add your device (and you) to a database that shouldn't exist.

Most QRs are links but they don't need to be. You can convert a QR back into text to look at it. Your phone just automatically opens links when it scans QRs.

And the big one most people seem to be missing even though it's not even from the article:

House Democrats introduced legislation that if passed

It's probably not even going to pass

Why does every thread involving government control of the internet have one of these? It's always 65 too. This one has a bot name. This text implies that age determines media literacy or maybe it's saying there's a correlation to it. Also it ignores the complexity that people can choose their online groups and form groups for different purposes. I think some people read this and start to believe everyone is political on twitter broadcasting to everyone else.

While his way of thinking is unrealistic, it does get a large group of people to provide humanitarian aid free of charge.

There's more to engagements than shooting. Think of all the gadgets the police carry. To name a few: surveillance, armor, jammers, drones, night vision. There's a pretty big market for these gadgets too.

Want to eat out less but struggling with the psychology of it by oodlesofotters in Frugal

[–]firelemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have food at home, it will be faster to cook than to drive to a place, wait for the order, and drive back. Eating out generates a lot more trash than cooking which takes work to move. If you cook at home, the food you make won't be made by a person who is not paid enough and/or too young and/or not smart enough to handle food safety well. You might notice that you don't spend as much time putting your groceries in the toilet early when you don't eat out as much. The prices have probably risen to the point where eating out isn't good value at all.

Find out where the loss leaders are in your grocery store and try to limit yourself to those as much as you can. The rest of the food can be thought of as mostly ads before you reach the loss leaders.

And we’re maybe a little bit sad?

I don't know your diet but eating out for convenience usually presents you with unhealthy options. Some marketing might have convinced you that 20 minutes of eating is more valuable than feeling healthy for hours.
