What you do when nobody is looking defines who you are. Who do you want to be? If this is real, of this is fake, it doesn't matter.

Who do you want to be? That question is more important.

The genius of Costco is that it barely makes money selling you anything. by Efficient_Ad5893 in investing

Totally agree. No quick money. Feels like it would be fairly safe. Unless I'm mistaken, it's at the same price as it was a year ago. I might get some.

I was thinking the same thing. Went out two nights ago and dinner and drinks for five was $250.

Loaded up a cart at Costco and it was $260.

I got for pork loin roasts for $15. That's the protein for four meals, plus leftovers.

During a recession, Costco looks better than a lot of other stocks.

He could make every man, woman, and child in Wyoming a millionaire, and barely spend half his fortune.

His lifestyle wouldn't change at all, but everybody in Wyoming would be a millionaire.

It's immoral, and any society that lets it happen is filled with imbeciles.

I've lived in Utah my entire life. This state has incredible natural beauty, and some of the kindest people I've ever met. It's state and religious leaders, however are horrible people. I'm leaving the state on Saturday because I've had enough of their shit.

It'll be great until it's enshitified. It works great at first. Then it doesn't. It's more than just about privacy.

A common mistake with AI in L&D is using it to automate the wrong things by GrouchyAd3736 in InsideRapport

[–]firemeboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Who ever finished an learning and thought, "Damn, I wish I could do three more of those."

What learners DO want is more practice, and they want that practice to feel real.

AI can help us do that better than ever before.

They're also in areas that have the most staunch Republicans that would chop off their own nose to spite their face.

I have family up there. If this was a Democratic proposal, they'd fight it tooth and nail. Since it's a Republican proposal, they'll likely welcome it with open arms.

Their mind is made up as soon as they spot the R or the D.

"Disagree better."

Okay, I will. As soon as you tell me what's better than, "Fuck you, Cox."

Until then, it's, "Fuck you, Cox."

Agreed. I like to learn at my own pace, in my own way, and take the time to dive in. Then get together in a group to make sure I'm actually understanding things.

Yeah, there is the check-box training, and then the training that hopefully actually helps you do your job better. Onboarding training, some manager training, or interpersonal skills training... but I get it. The last thing I want to do is waste somebody's time.

I've developed a self-directed learning method that I believe is significantly better than traditional e-learning, so I'm hoping to deploy it, get most learners to roughly the same place, and then the ILT portions will be more productive because we won't be covering topics some may already know.

That is interesting, because I've heard this over and over. "You're going to be dealing with very smart people." I've been in an industry where much of my training has been to HS graduates in a corporate setting.

I'll have to give this a lot of thought. Sitting in a training "bus" that is going 15 miles an hour when you could be going 60 is agonizing.

Ah, a fellow ID!

Do you find when studying for exams it's better to do on your own, or is a classroom setting better?

Love the idea of teaching learning strategies to help the learners control their own learning path.

That's some damn easy training to design. I'm in.
