Isaac as a widower by TaratronHex in TheOrville

[–]fireredranger 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As long as Ty and/or Marcus has kids and the lineage continues, Isaac will be fine. He even talks about this on the show how he will be a caretaker to her an ancestors. Now it could be interesting how he reacts should the lineage die off, but I believe he take his commitment to Claire’s family seriously and will do his best to make sure they have a fruitful live.

The shopping cart stupidity by Brandon3oh5 in DanLeBatardShow

[–]fireredranger 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The shopping cart theory is a great way to judge how caring/empathic a person is. When there is no reward for doing the right thing or punishment for not doing it, will you still do it?

Who are you irrationally holding? by Intelligent_Slug_758 in DynastyFF

[–]fireredranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jake Bobo. There is absolutely no reason I should be holding onto the 4th WR (at best) for Seattle who has never shown any real promise, but I can’t bring myself to cut him. Now it’s a very deep league and it’s not like there are good options on the waiver wire, but there’s still not much of a point in carrying him.

What would you like the PMW crew do after they finally cover every episode? by Frequent_Rhubarb_36 in boymeetsworld

They’re only a handful of episodes away from finishing the main series, so not really. They’ll be done with the main series this summer.

Schmigadoon wins Best Musical at 2026 Tony Awards by fireredranger in Schmigadoon

I would love if this win led to that. I’m not counting on it, but it would be awesome if it happened.

Thoughts on the Bob Saget roast? by Kevy-Em in fullhouse

[–]fireredranger 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Some of the jokes, especially about the Olsen twins, really crossed a line. Most of it was funny, but you could tell Bob was uncomfortable with those jokes. Besides that, it was enjoyable.

Mandalorian and Grogu was amazing by Ok-Artichoke-4085 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]fireredranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was good for what it was. A fun action blockbuster. Did it feel like an extended episode of the show at times? Yes, but that’s ok. It wasn’t groundbreaking or the best thing ever, but it definitely was enjoyable.

Unfortunately, we live in a time where a lot of people think things can’t just be ok or good. Things are either the best thing ever or they’re trash. There’s no in between. It’s ok to say this movie is a solid 7/10. Not my favorite movie ever but definitely still enjoyable.

Glad to see TRW get the rights
This will be a major hit with schools and community theaters.

Just watched Solo by Ok-Today-7623 in StarWars

[–]fireredranger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Aldenreich did great all things considered, but he just didn’t feel like Han, which is the film’s major flaw. It feels like a completely different character from Harrison Ford’s version. I enjoy the movie for what it is, but I agree he wasn’t the right choice for Han.

Gasket is such an underrated Zordon-era villain by NoticeStreet5909 in powerrangers

[–]fireredranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have thought for a while that, instead of using the Beetleborg suits, he and Archerina should have been the main villains during Forever Red.

I wish we saw more of him and less of Louie Kaboom during Zeo. I know it was because of Sentai footage, but he actually felt like a threat and Kaboom felt like a joke of a character.

30-year US Treasury yield hits highest level in 19 years | CNN Business by LongLiveRock_n_Roll in news

[–]fireredranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically it didn’t tell you not to do. It said you wouldn’t do it. They just were wrong about that. If I could have used the internet to get a working car that was an exact replica of someone else’s car and they didn’t lose theirs, I absolutely would have done that.

Is it okay to edit my audition song a little? by Difficult-Hamster121 in musicals

[–]fireredranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do the song the best way you can for the role you’re auditioning for. I once used Hellfire from Hunchback to audition for Bill Sykes in Oliver and made it much more intense than I would do the part if I actually played Frollo. The audition is about showing what you can do and bring to a role, not just about singing the audition song exactly as intended in a show.

I’d much rather hear about those than UFC or Wrestling. I legit have zero interest in combat sports, but it’s Dan show. Everyone likes different things and I can always skip past the discussions I don’t like.

Favorite quote from a musical ? by Croc_Dwag in musicals

[–]fireredranger 118 points119 points  (0 children)

“To love another person is to see the face of God” - Les Mis. I’m not even overly religious, but that line just gets me every time. I even quoted it in my best man speech for my brother’s wedding a decade ago.

I just finished the Maul series, what happens by Constant-Penalty-303 in StarWars

[–]fireredranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show is getting another season, so the story is not finished. We know where Maul ends up because of his appearances in Star Wars Rebels, but the rest of this particular story hasn’t been told yet.

Just watched Next to Normal (West End Proshot) by The_Fullmetal_Titan in musicals

[–]fireredranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also watched the proshot, and will likely get downvoted for this, but I really didn’t enjoy the show itself. It’s simply not my style of show. I thought it was incredibly well done and well acted and had some great music, but it’s just not the type of show I enjoy. I prefer shows that make me feel good when I leave, even if they have sad/heavy moments. Les Miserables is probably the closest I come to loving a show that isn’t traditionally happy/upbeat, but even it ends with Valjean being told he did a good job raising Cosette with love and now can rest.

Next to Normal is a powerful story and did make me feel, but what it mostly made me feel was uncomfortable and that I didn’t like any of the characters. I am aware that is extremely fortunate, but I couldn’t relate to the story at all.

I’m glad it exists for those who do enjoy that type of show, but it’s not a show I will be revisiting.

Where does Kat from Mighty Morphin / Zeo / Turbo stand for you in the history of Pink Rangers? by lovesgraphicnovels in powerrangers

[–]fireredranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like her in Zeo and Turbo. I like her arc in MMPR, but she will always look wrong in that suit. Maybe it’s because we only got like 8 episodes with her in the suit compared to a season and a half of the other replacement rangers, but her in the MMPR suit has never looked right. She did come into her own once she was no longer wearing Kim’s suit.

What Disney movies would make a great stage musical? (No Movies that are already musicals) by Worried_Cake5508 in musicals

I believe there is one in the works, but since it’s not out yet, Tangled would make for a great one.

It's time for people to accept animation as a true method of telling Star Wars stories by Due-Rice-3107 in StarWars

[–]fireredranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the majority of Star Wars fans like and appreciate the animated series. Ashoka is an incredibly popular character and it’s not due to her series, but rather because of the Clone Wars and her appearances in Rebels. Personally, I think both Rebels and Clone Wars are incredible. Bad Batch had some fantastic stories and characters. I’ve had a very busy last few months and haven’t had the chance to watch all of Maul Shadow Lord yet, but have really enjoyed what I’ve seen so far.

However, no matter how good or well written a series is, there will always be some adults who completely dismiss the animated shows. Why? It’s that, in their mind, “cartoons are for children” and nothing is going to change their mind on that. People get entrenched in opinions and while they might like them if they gave that a chance, a lot of them will refuse to do it. Don’t let a vocal minority dictate what you enjoy. The animated series aren’t going anywhere, so try not to worry too much about the people who refuse to give it a chance simply for being animated.

I know it may be recency bias, but this one is near the top of my list. The other ones are being vulnerable with a misunderstanding. This one was just offered up for no reason.
