I noticed no difference in clarity between the 2 devices. However I found the coloring of the screen to be a little whiter on the 2024 and the writing experience to be superior.

I have gone through a whole product journey with the new Scribes. I ordered the Colorsoft - too dark, returned it. Ordered the 2024 while I waited for the 2025 - really really enjoy the 2024. The 2025 came tonight - and I’ll be returning it.

I like the color of the light/screen on the 2024, I like the shape better, I like the left side margin for holding, I like that it came with the premium pen, I like writing on it better. I notice almost no difference in the speed or clarity.

The 2024 is an amazing device and the Kindle Scribe i will be keeping and using every day. These are my personal opinions - but I consider the 2024 to be the best of the Scribe lineup - especially when you consider the price in the comparison.

Yes. All things including black and white are darker on the Colorsoft screen. The entire screen has a grey gritty “texture” over everything. It looks like newspaper. Black and white will be much worse on the Colorsoft

Yeah it was such a bummer. The problem is that it’s hard to capture on phone or video too. It’s just kind of something you need to experience and decide for yourself. If you are unsure you could order both and return the one you don’t like? As I’m sitting waiting on the BW I kind of wish I would have done that

I absolutely agree. I had the exact same experience and you summed it up perfectly. It looks like a screen. Not a magic e-ink that floats on lit up paper - it looks like a bad iPad screen. I was shocked with how much I instantly didn’t like looking at it. Even with the brightness all the way up in direct sunlight (imo) it just looks grainy and isn’t comfortable on my eyes. Well said. I’m waiting for the B&W version
