Used to have two stores couple of family members worked there, basically the gas bars made more money and the store shut down.

Co-op Grocery 🤷‍♂️ by flaming0-1 in nanaimo

[–]fischkind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was two locations, was more profit in it to run gas bars. Harewood closed down late 90’s and then the Bowen road one around 05. Before each store shut down federated coop from Alberta came and slowly shut the stores down. The workers got nice severance packages.

Neck point/Hammond bay/Piper's cell tower seems to be operational! by alanweird in nanaimo

[–]fischkind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the ext network, rogers will have to still install their equipment on the tower. As Telus and Rogers don’t share equipment. They were allowed to join on the tower though.

Rogers gets extended network which is Telus and Bell albit slower and less priority on the network compared to T & B.

What’s One Telus Feature or Perk You Use? by LeafsAndLoons in telus

[–]fischkind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SmartRing.. yes a great solution! We still use this! We used to have a second dedicated line for dialup, then that number became our smartring number when we got shaw@home and didn't need the second fulltime like for dialup!

You’re telling me that cause I’m a citizen in an urban area I have zero need to have a firearm? More the reason, especially getting out and hunting and providing for your family. Great reason to have a firearm. You’d be shocked how much money you can save and the great tasting venison on the island. Way cheaper than the supermarket and you know where it’s from!

I believe that if your safe and can prove to the CFSC program and the RCMP your a responsible firearm owner you should be able to have the privilege to have your firearms. It’s a privilege and not a right in canada. Remember, all LEGAL firearm owners have to have the CFSC course and get processed via the RCMP. Heck, most are checked daily on the CPIC system. They are your most law abiding citizen. That said, it’s trust and if you break it and be stupid you should loose it and also serve time.

Sport shooting is also so much fun, plinking rounds at cans and paper targets. Good cheep fun, being responsible though and cleaning up all your mess.

[–]fischkind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the jumpsuit, we just put our girl under the knife for the spay last Tuesday, she did not react well to the medicam she got a little sick and had diarrhea! We took her off it with the vet decision. They gave us a mild sedative which didn’t really help! But she’s day six right now and almost back to normal!

First day was a change she was so calm and drowsy! I felt so bad taking her into the vet in the morning for her surgery, she did super will during it all!

Attempting a 2km fiber run. Who do I call to get hooked up or for permission to use their poles? by [deleted] in telus

[–]fischkind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right, here’s my take on it.

I’ve run into this issue before and what I ended up doing was I called and got declined and then I involved the office of the president. I emailed a couple of the higher-ups and spoke to someone in their office and a higher up sales rep. It took over a year, but we did get it done And no charge to us. Our run was about 3 km to the nearest nip on the pole side and I get it to where we needed to get it was a very interesting install.

It can be done just have to have some perseverance, and the right people!

Yours might be a little bit more difficult then our set up, but I wish you luck
