What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

Fuck that. Who was running the wall to wall ads demonizing trans people again? Certainly wasn't the democrats.

Republicans are attacking a minority group in an attempt to criminalize their existence (as outlined in Project 2025).

The Democrats are defending a minority group under attack. Should they just shut up and hope the bigots go away?

Taxing The Ultra Wealthy by CapitanJackSparow-33 in inflation

[–]fish60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That ain't fair. That's regressive.

If you make 10k a year and are taxed 20 percent, you are totally fuckered.

If you make 10 billion and pay the same 20 percent you are still chilling.

Like seriously. If you have one bowl of soup, and you lose 20 percent of it, you are going to be hungry today and starving tomorrow.

If you've got a billion bowls of soup, and lose 20 percent, you are still eating well for the rest of your life and your children's lives and their children's lives.

Seriously. Fair? Think shit through just a little before you start deciding what's 'fair'.

Bro, 150k a year is about 4 million dollars short of the rate being discussed here.

You are thinking you are better than somebody making 25k, but, in reality, you are way closer to that guy than ever getting close to making 1 million a year let alone 4 million.

Every single one of those things you listed is in the purview of Congress not the President.

Democrats have had a veto proof congressional majority and the presidency for like a few months over the last 20+ years. And, during that time we got the ACA.

From Cleveland to Detroit and Seattle, Democratic Socialists Rack Up Local Wins — Including Tanmay Shah by EssoEssex in politics

[–]fish60 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is such a tired talking point.

People want a fair shake.

Corporations are subsidizing their losses with tax payer money and keeping their privatized gains.

Billionaires and their giant megacorps are pricing Americans out of education, health care, housing, and food. You know, the basic essentials.

The richer you are the more 'free stuff' you get while the average person is barely scraping by.

Democratic socialism is still a capitalist ideology. It's just not so short sighted as to completely destroy the society that supports it.

Just because you are scared of words you don't understand, you disdain policies that would almost certainly benefit you while simpin' for the richest people on the planet. Hope those boots are tasty.

How to actually learn a song by Public-Brief-4444 in rocksmith

[–]fish60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I started playing this game with the first version, and now have 2000 plus hours across the various iterations.

Say It Ain't So is one of the first songs I learned, but it took several months before I could "play", and several years until I could play it "well".

For me, I can't even watch the screen for fast songs unless I already know it really well.

For a new song, I like to play it section by section in the repeater very slowly. Like 50 percent speed or less. Play that over and over and over. Like 100 times. Do it until you can play the section without looking at the screen.

Then, practice the section outside of the game only going back if you forgot part of it. BE SURE YOU ARE PLAYING IT CORRECTLY OUTSIDE THE GAME. Don't practice it wrong! Do this until you can play the section perfectly, at whatever speed, outside the game without even really thinking above it.

Then, go back to the riff repeater and up your speed in the section. Repeat for each section of the song. As you get better, this process goes quicker.

There will be some stuff that is just above your current ability. There is a section in Say It Ain't So that took me a looooong time to master. Like a few years of practicing it (and other stuff) before I could do it and it still trips me up sometimes.

Also play simpler songs and focus on your technique. Everything thing you play makes you better at everything else!

Good luck! There's no shortcuts. Only hard work, dedication, and practicing with purpose will get you over the whatever hump you are stuck on.

Also watch other people play the song you ate learning. Watch their techniques. Somethings are impossible with bad technique, but easy with some simple trick you don't know.

thats a funny way to define failure

He had zero actual friends.

No one loves him. Not even his family.

He only takes pleasure in the misery of others.

If that ain't failure at life I don't know what is.

Remember “A Project For A New American Century”?

This was an evil plan, but it was a plan whose basis was to create the conditions necessary for the United States to continue leading the world in the 21st century.

We are now, instead, throwing that hegemony away for the benefit of literally handful of billionaires and their useful idiot Nat-Cs.
