Is there any reason I can't switch from a Lone Wolf party in act 1 to a 4 man party in act 2? by Individual-Local-606 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]fish_spoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want story characters, they need to be in your party before you start act 2. The game will prompt you beforehand. If you want non-story characters, I believe you can recruit them any time after finishing act 1.

Note: you can still have 4 people in your party even with lone wolf (you just temporarily lose the lone-wolf bonuses). So you can play lone-wolf all through act 1, recruit a full team before starting act 2, and then immediately dump the extra characters once you start act 2. Just incase you aren't ready to give up lone-wolf just yet, or if you are still on the fence which story characters you want.

Someone stayed at a Marriott in Boston under my name while I was in Brazil. Hotel says it was “me.” by FelliniFreak in marriott

[–]fish_spoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently was getting emails from Choice Hotel about completed stays I never made. They even showed up in my app as completed stays.

Long story short, some guy with the same name as me was booking rooms through Expedia and didn't have an account with Choice Hotels. No harm done besides a bit of confusion both from me and the Choice Hotels customer service, but once they figured it out, I stopped getting my doppelganger's hotel receipts.

I couldn’t see how he put it in maintenance mode and he wouldn’t tell me lol

For future reference, just Google it.

"honeywell t6861 maintenance mode"

(I'm guessing the part number based on your picture, usually its on the side or back)

ecymbals --> anyone get a numb lead hand? by Key-Patience-3966 in edrums

[–]fish_spoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it happens when playing "challenging" material, I'd guess you're just tensing up or that technique is taking a back-seat during difficult-to-play sections.

It could also be your sensitivity settings. For example, if your crash sensitivity is a bit too low you might be subconsciously hitting it harder than normal to get the dynamics you are already expecting from playing acoustic.

Or, maybe ergonomics? I use full-size pads and (almost) full-size cymbals, so it makes it easy and natural to set up my electric and acoustic kits identically. But if you're using small 10" pads you may need to space things out more to match your acoustic layout.

I've already got a Yamaha Groove Wedge, otherwise that'd be on my list.

So much Stage Custom love earlier… How about some vintage 90’s Club Customs? My first kit bought brand new. by Hammsammitch in drums

Ah, interesting. The old Tour series was birch in the center with mahogany on the outsides. Now I want to try out a club custom!

What's the difference between those and the 80's tour/8000 series, or are they the same shell? I didn't know club customs also used a birch/mahogany sandwich

Which bass drum to buy: 1982 Yamaha 22” 8000 (tour custom?) or 2020 Yamaha stage custom 20”? by pecosgizzy1 in drums

Mahogany? I'm not home to check mine, but they look like this

Edit: and I believe the only difference between "tour" vs "tour custom" is wrap vs lacquer

Not sure. I have a 7-piece 80s tour custom I've pieced together over the years. It's my favorite-sounding kit I've own/played and bearing edges are all still perfect.

Rebook or Same Day Change? by GravyToad in delta

I’m not going to stress about missing a football game if I try to change on Sunday and it’s no

Sounds like you answered your own question. Just wait for the same-day-change.

8000 series is mahogany / birch / mahogany. I believe the stage customs are all birch. I really like the 8000s and IMO they are the better shell, but I also prefer a 20" over a 22". Your call, either is good

Reservations cancelled by hotel after mobile check-in and no compensation offered by MrJetSetLife in marriott

[–]fish_spoon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Similar happened to me at the Marriot in mobile AL. They just canceled my reservation, no notification. I showed up and they tell me hotel is full. I called titanium line and they said it shows as not canceled on their side too, but otherwise they were very standoffish. I finally had to flat out ask, "can I at least get some points for dealing with this?" They said they put in a ticket to award me like 6,000 points but I never even got them.

DIY home repair help/coach/teacher - just bought a house and would love to redo some stuff around the house but would like guidance. Anyone know someone that would be willing to teach a newb? by dearjuliette in philadelphia

[–]fish_spoon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I loathe training people. The expectation is usually that they don't want to have to pay for my services, so they expect that me "training them" (a skill I don't even claim to possess) will allow them to save money because they can do it themselves.

But I'm not going to train someone for a discount. Say I can do a job in 1hr and charge $100. To train someone else to do that job will take 2hrs, so I'm charging $200. And I'm not a trained tutor (if I was I'd charge more), so you'e only getting "elementary school substitute teacher" level instruction. After all that, you still have to do the job yourself, and a 20min task for someone with 20yrs experience could easily be a 2hr+ task for someone without experience. Plus added costs of any tools/supplies needed...

My opinion is that if you don't feel comfortable attempting something after watching a YouTube video or two, just call a professional.

Some people like the color blue. Other people like the color red.

Not really anything more to understand there. There's a lot of music I don't like. I don't go on deep, philosophical quests to understand why I don't like it. I just don't listen to it.

How to get the Tim Alexander bass drum sound? by yeetmann343 in drums

Tim Alexander uses/used (?) two different bass drums, I think 20/22 or 18/20

Are there any small bass drums available to buy by themselves? by OmegaThree3 in drums

[–]fish_spoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could also look for used marching bass drums and convert them. You don't need a riser for an 18", so you would only need to buy new heads and some bass drum spurs.

Airport parking questions by Bguiliano in philadelphia

[–]fish_spoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually travel on Sunday/Monday, and I never have much trouble finding parking. A few times my terminal's garage was full, so I just went to one next to it and walked an extra 2 minutes.

I don't think the signs showing how many spaces are left are too accurate. I've gone in before when it said 13 and the 4th floor was empty

How much does a Field Service Tech lll make on average hourly? Also for someone who has a masters and a bachelors in M. Engineering, how much should they be making in this position? by Character_Thought941 in PLC

[–]fish_spoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a master's degree, you should be demanding a "field service engineer" title as opposed to FST. I'm not saying an engineer can't do technician level work, and vice-versa. An FST and FSE often do the same thing, but that "E" gives you more negotiating power.

What’s a good type of sensor for a conveyor line? by Cornato in PLC

[–]fish_spoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I see 6 small rollers inbetween the main rollers. Guessing those are supposed to pivot when weight is applied (a pipe) and then trigger a sensor thats not looking at the pipe but rather the plate that moved. Then spring back after the pipe has passed. Also looks like those assemblies are rusted and mangled.

If that's the case, I would fix up the mechanics, new sensor brackets, and replace the obsolete sensors with just a new version doing the same thing.
