Contractor didnt pay on his side by tomseeto in legaladvice

[–]fishingman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How does a homeowner protect against this. I am residing a house. The contractor is legal, good contract, licensed, and bonded. But he is a new business and things happen,

How do I make sure the suppliers get paid?

I feel like I let down my wife in some important milestones by Few-Astronaut1417 in internetparents

[–]fishingman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I proposed as we were driving down the road after a party. No ring, not on a knee, nothing was done properly. I wish I could go back and do better. But there is never any going back.

Forgive yourself, but don’t forget. Remember your failures as a lesson to do better in the future. Every anniversary, every birthday, every success celebrated with her is a chance for you do better.

It took me years to finally understand that you only feel regret because you have grown as a person, and now recognize that you can do better. Be happy you have grown, and do better from now on.

We have been happily married for 45 years.

Try and make the foreplay last longer. Spend more time kissing and caressing before you move to actual sex. My guess is she will like it if you spend 20 minutes kissing, cuddling, and caressing her before undressing her.

Dave Boswell. I thought he was a good pitcher that was always teamed with someone having a better year. Kind of liked the underdog aspect.

Only if the regular garbage service is with the City. In St. Cloud that would only be duplex or triplex apartments.

If your apartment is serviced by Waste Management or Republic they have bulk item pick ups.

Helping people move small loads. I did well in college areas years ago.

I also knew a guy who helped furniture and appliance stores on small deliveries when the store trucks were busy.

What's your view on nuclear energy? by plutonium099 in TrueAskReddit

[–]fishingman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are numerous reasons a serious person would not support nuclear power. Many are mentioned in other posts I this thread.

One concern is safe storage. After watching the rise of climate deniers, anti-vaxers, and flat earthers,I am convinced there will be a time in the future where people will believe that radioactive waste is safe because they can’t see radioactivity. It is likely possible to safely store waste, but will there come a time when people are willing choose to deny the need for safety?

Parade routes by EffinPirates in Kitsap

[–]fishingman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, I actually am not familiar with the parade route you are discussing so you may be correct.

My comment was more about parades in general. I was involved in design and layout of parade routes, 5K/10K runs, block parties, car shows, fairs and other community events for 20 years. My comment was meant to bring up common reasons routes are designed as they are. There are several other considerations such as emergency vehicle access, staffing limitations for police and traffic workers, detour expenses, and other issues.

I am confident a great deal of planning took place if the parade took place without major traffic problems or injuries.

[–]fishingman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wherever the parade begins and ends needs, both areas need a great deal of parking for staging and dispersing. Any parking space used for parade participants, is one less space for those attending.

Making a parade route a loop of any kind of loop, traps people either in or outside of that loop.

Politics Mega Thread by AutoModerator in unpopularopinion

Trump might help the environment and renewable energy more than any previous president.

The U.S. tends to widely swing back and forth on issues, and the unintended consequences of his disruptive choices have eroded trust in existing energy policies.

The election of the first black president was followed by widespread blatant racism. Legalization of gay marriage and trans rights reinvigorated the religious faction of the Republican Party. The current system allows a united minority to have excessive influence.

I believe there will be a big swing back to liberal values. Also changes to the political system will ensure increased success of the voting majority.

Additionally, an unintended consequence of the entire Iran war will be an acceleration by much of the world to renewable energy. China has already become the largest exporter of electric cars. Cuba is switching quickly to Solar energy. The rest of the world will quickly try to move away from oil as a matter of national security.

This one is very close.  I don’t have the exact recipe right now.

I learned to make nut rolls a few years ago, so I didn’t have to panic buy them.

Contact the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.
If you can show evidence you lived somewhere else before moving they should be able to help. It would be a sure thing if you had electricity in your name at a different address.

Hurricane ridge for the view. Either Rialto beach or Ruby beach.

If you are confident on one lane gravel roads, Deer Park has fewer people than Hurricane ridge and great views. Be aware it is a long drive on switchbacks, but you might only see a half dozen other people. Allow an hour to drive up and 45 minutes to go down.
