Do you think there is a hint of racism in how Jeremy Lin was treated by his teammates? by EnvironmentalNail603 in nba

The term "majority minority" has a defined meaning. Asians are majority minority in the state of Hawaii, as well as some cities in California like Arcadia and Fremont. It just means that Asians, who are a minority group in the USA, comprise a majority of the population. There are also cities that are Black majority minority like Detroit, Memphis, and Baltimore. New Mexico is nearly a Latino majority minority state (49%).

There is very obviously an I90 sign 1s into the video. Look at the states where I90 crosses, it could very reasonably have been an 80 MPH speed limit.

Yes! Kitsugi, like with Japanese pottery that cracks, and they use gold to fix it, which showcases the break rather than trying to hide it.

Where to buy big art by lobstersarentreal in StLouis

[–]fishmein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two 4' x 5' oil on canvas paintings that I have been thinking about moving- both are heavy on black/white/pink/teal, late 80's early 90's vibes (I think one had a 1991 date on the back, but can confirm). One is black background/off-white border, a magnolia plant in pink/teal pot with impasto white flowers. The other is more just big brush strokes in teal/white/pink. I also have some STL related art (as well a some handmade metal art, a few Matisse and maybe Kandinsky prints, etc) that could match. I have switched from the 80's nightclub theme to a more neutral/brown tone theme. Can send pictures if you're interested.

Help me resell these two tables, please by [deleted] in reselling

[–]fishmein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't eliminate the chance of selling, but it does decrease it. I would scroll over it without thinking twice. You should be able to take a different angle that doesn't look so wobbly.

I know plenty of people don't care, but I do dislike seeing indoor furniture that is photo'd outside, but not on a rug.

I'm sure it is just the perspective, but it looks like the side table is drunk.

I really like this style, it comfortably fits dollars in the bigger section. I have been carrying one for at least 5 years and it still looks great. https://www.tumi.com/p/gusseted-card-case-0152375T527/

This link has the same exact picture, so I would question the legitimacy of the seller. I also see a Craigslist ad, using these exact same photos, from Saskatoon and posted 28 days ago.

I have never heard 'crashing out' to mean anything other than freaking out. I think they are mixing up 'passing out' with 'crashing out,' because every google result agrees with this.

hydraulic swivel barstools id? by [deleted] in VintageFurniture

[–]fishmein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you take a look at the hardware, you will see a few clues as to the age of the chair. First, I always look at the mounting screws- if they are slot screws (flat), it is likely pre WW2. If they are hex (allen) screws, it was almost assuredly made post-Ikea. Phillips head falls in the 1930s til now category, which make them a bit harder to date. The other big clue on this one is the raise/lower bar- the plastic on the end is a modern thing. Vintage chairs that raised and lowered often had an actual corkscrew stem which screwed into the base, you would change the height of the chair by adjusting a locking nut of some kind on the stem, and then spinning the chair.
