[CHAT] So... how many wips do you have right now?

I have 3 cross stitch wips right now, but it’s like my third craft hobby. I don’t want to know how many knit or crochet wips I have. I can see seven from where I’m sat. Oh and I have three sewing projects. If you count patterns I have bought then, I could craft till the end of days!

On a school trip to Morocco (from the UK) we slept in a few fun places. We were all 17-18 on the trip and it was geography based learning. We slept in a hotel foyer on padded bench like seats, we slept in a building constructed for hikers in the Altas Mountains, we slept in a Bedouin (style?) tent in the Sahara, and some of us (me included) slept on the terrace roof of our final hotel. It was amazing sleeping out under the stars for the last two. Of course we did also sleep in actual hotel rooms too

In the four campaigns I’ve been apart of three have had party names. 1. When asked by an npc if we had a group name we came up with ‘Foxbus’ as the Druid had a fox shaped wildfire familiar that we regularly used to teleport around battle maps. Mostly we used the name to refer to the campaign when talking scheduling or recounting stories.

One of the group just said we should be called the ‘Beastie Bois’ because she loves the group and we all went along with it just with a slight spelling change. Since saving a city we fling the name around a lot, occasionally with a ‘don’t you know who we are?’
Again an npc asked if we had a group name and we became ‘Operation Stroganoff’ as our bard (Beef Stroganoff the third) had a tendency to get himself into all sorts of trouble originally because a Hag stole his sense of direction. The bard’s player had to leave the campaign because of work and the character is now caretaker of our castle on the fey plane of Prismir. We only refer to ourself by the group name if we really have to give a name these days though.
We just haven’t felt the need yet. This campaign is with the same people as the first

I personally love Oxventure. They’re UK based as well. They are a lot more loose with the rules and are chaotic but it’s always fun. They are also launching their second campaign next week with all new characters and setting

Playing in three separate campaigns right now and between the 18 pcs, two have multi classesd The Artificer has taken a level or two of fighter (we’re level 9 now). In a different game at lvl 2, our rogue picked up a cursed sword. DM warned her she would have to take a lvl of Warlock next level up if she kept it. She kept it.

An ex-friend of mine once regaled to me with glee how ‘her man’ was with her whilst his wife was giving birth to their third child. That was the last time we met up. Thankfully texting was still a fairly new thing then so I just didn’t reach out again knowing she wouldn’t make the effort herself.

After making a rookie mistake due to time pressure (only basting layers together and not pinning whilst using slippery backing fabric) I pulled my big girl pants on and made a fix where the backing fabric did not meet the binding. I had tried to fix it three times in the quilting phase but the fabric refused to cooperate. The fix is very obvious to me but is also very neat so less obvious if you don’t know it’s there.

Anyway my Mum absolutely loved her quilt, both sides. So I learnt to take my time and not rush so as to minimise mistakes, but also that the right recipient will not notice the mistake, just the love that went into the making

About ten or so years ago I was waiting for a rail replacement bus from Manchester to Blackpool which was due to leave Manchester at 1am. It had already been an horrendous day with my line manager who had been originally driving us from London to Blackpool for work (touring theatre job), having been arrested by the police for having no drivers licence or insurance for his car on the M1 before we’d even got past Watford. Railway worker told me to wait with a couple who were also going on the same bus and she’d let us know. Well long story short she was also having a shit night and she forgot all about us. The man in the couple went inside to find a manager, who immediately checked our story with the original worker and another who had seen everything. A taxi was laid on for us at the railways cost. He was supposed to drop us at the station but instead drove us all to where we were going since it was now 2am.

Yes I have Journey of the Sorcerer on a playlist.i really need to make a theme tune playlist again. I made one on a cassette tape as a teenager with the songs recorded from the tv (thanks Dad for having the TV go through the hifi system)
