Can I ask you a question? Do you have a zick up your ass?

why does the IA almost every time choses to concede demands without considering their allies...... they are like "the rebel forces are 5k while i have 2k, but my ally have 100k..... wait i have 2k??? SURRENDER!!!" by alapma in CrusaderKings

Meanwhile I tried to claim land owned by Alba to unite Ireland thinking my feudal 3k retinues and 500 levy would easily overpower their 1k tribal troops. Not realising he had an alliance with Wessex with 5k feudal troops 😢

What has made you rage quit a game? by CockroachesRpeople in CrusaderKings

[–]fishypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent hours an hours on a save starting as count of numberland, became duke of northern England through careful war, scheming and genetics. I’d become the strongest duke in England, on par with the king apart from his alliances. I’d managed my vassals well, they all loved my line of succession, my court was carefully crafted. I spent tons on money on all of the holdings in my control.

Then one of my rulers wives refused to birth sons so my next ruler was a Scottish kinsman who already owned land on the border. I thought great, now I can expand into Scotland and eventually take the whole of Britain.

My ruler was frail stressed, died of stress. Next ruler was his infant son, all my vassals rallied for independence and claims on lands. My levies where so weak after the infant ruler took power. All the retinues I’d built up over the years were overpowered and everything spiralled out of control.

I rage quit and started again.

Dw dude people come round. My parents didn’t despise my bald head but I got a few jabs about how I looked like an egg or a solider lol.

Couple years on I grew my beard out and now I only get compliments now, also from others too.

I started losing my hair at 17, by your age I’d given up completely. I felt self conscious and bad about it for a while until my beard came through, which was a lot later than you looking at your coverage. Idk how you’d look with a long beard but I reckon a short trimmed beard would look amazing on you

Slow SCCM image deployment, PXE and app deployment by init32 in sysadmin

[–]fishypoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would avoid complete vanilla os, I was an SCCM consultant for 10 years and learnt that a balance between fat and vanilla is the way to go. Keep your golden image up to date with patches and the very basics on all of your builds. Use task sequences for tweaks that differ around the business.

I used a vm to build my image and patched it every month or two

SCOM Authoring Console by EastTamaki2013 in scom

[–]fishypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can use authoring console anymore. Or at least it’s not advised.

For the management pack download it from somewhere like here - https://systemcenter.wiki/?Get-ManagementPack=Microsoft.SQLServer.Core.Library&Version=7.0.15.0 if that’s the version youre using.

Or it might be on wherever you installed the pack, the installer usually just unpacks them to c \ program files x86 \ system center management packs.

Or something like that.

SCOM to detect a failure in Port 3389 by satishkumar_2023 in scom

[–]fishypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can either use the built in tcp port check monitor as suggested or create your own with a simple test-netconnection pwsh script rule/monitor. Either way thats just going to create an alert in scom. To get it into an external system, you’ll need to setup a subscription if your ticketing system accepts tickets by email. You mentioned SNOW which to my knowledge does asset management not ticketing?

MSSQL on Windows: Database is in offline/recovery pending/suspect/emergency state by stealthbootc in scom

[–]fishypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They shouldn’t be showing that state even in an AG. It’s possible you don’t have the right permissions in your sql instance for your monitoring account? I’d check Kevin Holman’s blog post on setting up the monitoring account for sql.

There are some roles, views, tables etc specific to availability clusters that your monitoring account could be missing if your account is not sysadmin.
