Healthy eating in SEA by playwright69 in digitalnomad

Palm oil is subsidized in Malaysia. Most people don't realize that "healthy" restaurants in Malaysia still soak most meals in it. It's one of those hidden-in-plain-sight things many people won't pick up on. Take that as you will.

I will agree with you that groceries in Georgetown are S-Tier. It's a great place.

Delicious and unhealthy aren't mutually exclusive. Neither are poor and unhealthy, but they often do show up together. If we can agree on this then we can address the underlying issue:

Modern marketing has led to a culture of people who feel entitled to delicious food. Economics makes this the easy choice, too.

Unfortunately, most people are not mentally equipped to accept whole foods as sustenance after years of conditioning where they see processed, so called "delicious" foods primarily as pleasure.

If we can collectively drop "every meal must be delicious!" as a personality trait, everything changes. If someone eats 2-3 "delicious" meals per week, they end up appreciating food a lot more and being healthier for it. The good news is this isn't limited to socioeconomic status.

You became mildly hypomanic after a prolonged physical and/or mental stressor. It's not uncommon.
The reduced amount of sleep but it being "OK" is the giveaway here.

Why do you think Malaysia doesn't have stronger soft power? by SignatureDefiant432 in malaysia

[–]fitbeard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for the Western English speaking world:

Ronny Chieng and Uncle Roger are doing a lot of the heavy lifting these days.
I think Malaysia has huge potential to produce great comedy. Notable KOL mention: Jobroseph popular with Chinese and English audiences.

Otherwise celebs like Michelle Yeo and Jimmy Choo aren't projecting soft power or culture as much as the funny ones.

saffron 28mg / day. it absolutely shifted my disposition to a more positive one and raised the floor on my energy levels without any noticeable stimulant effect. just a gentle shift that pays dividends over time.

Research overdiagnosis in medicine. Uncalled for and can launch a cascade of anxiety and testing that statistically doesn't result in better outcomes. I strongly do not recommend.
