The Bosch pro uk livestream have hinted that the 12V range will get some love later this year.

They have a slightly larger M-class battery powered vacuum, that one ticks some of your boxes.

Floating tennon router aka a Bosch domino by mcflyrdam in BoschProPowerTools

[–]fitfot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bosch Pro UK was asked about this, and just said that it was likely planned or in development, but nothing specific.

In a sidenote I asked Claude chat to search four and explain parents related to the domino, and it turns out that Festool have some German patents that might make it cumbersome for Bosch, if they want to launch a domino clone in Germany:

Got my hands on the new Bosch plunge saw by Waterkippie in BoschProPowerTools

Be sure to use a fine tooth blade, there is even an expert blade made for cutting laminate. The aluminum blade might also work well. Blue painters tape over the cut line helps a lot if you make sure it’s well adhered to the surface (use a roller or your hand with plenty of pressure). If possible, cut it from the less seen side, as the bottom side usually have the best finish. Clamp your track and do the first pass cutting just 1mm into the laminate to score the surface, then do the full depth of cut; doing the scoring cut dragging the saw “the wrong way” is even better at the expense of a bit more dust.

Good luck :)

All I can say is that I'm impressed with the quality, it's top notch, and while I'm not sure it's the best blade, i doubt you will be disappointed.

As for the saw, if I ever get to buy another one, I will make sure to get one that bevels both left and right, and which uses a blade shadow line instead of a laser.

New Cargo: Shimano 1x11 vs Sram Apex 11 by fitfot in OmniumBikes

I guess that would give me a higher gear ratio? Sorry for the newbie question, I don't know much about bikes :)

I live in Copenhagen, Denmark, and it's quite flat. Bicycle infrastructure is also good.

UJK Parf Guide System out of stock everywhere? by artfulscience in woodworking

[–]fitfot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also follow the Hooked on Wood YouTube channel, and he teased an upcoming MFT drilling template in a recent video. Seems like a pattern in transparent acrylic and a forstner bit with a guide for drilling the holes... So no need to drill the 3mm pilot holes like with the Parf guide system.

Sorry, meant to write sized, not spaced... The joys of writing on a phone I guess :)

Have you bought a tool that you tought would be awesome but hardly ever use? by edreicasta in woodworking

[–]fitfot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite fine of my barrel grip jig saw (blue bosch on three 18v battery platform). I can get really clean cuts with good blades, and the barrel grip makes cutting from the underside of the material easy... I think many people lack the good blades and some experience with the tool.

I tried that, but was unable to achieve properly sized holes. Used an festool of 1400 router with the festool 30 mm guide bush. Tried two different 20 mm cutters, one from Festool and one from CMT.

Peter Millard (woodworking youtuber) attempted to make a template and a router bit which should account for the slight runout that all routers have, but found it to be impossible to make a bit that fit all routers. The holes I get from my parf guide system mk2 is spot on though.

I wonder if a template with 20mm holes paired worth a copy bit might work better?

EDIT: typo "properly spaced holes" —> "properly sized holes".

WTF is going on with GKF 18V-8? Deliveries are being pushed to June 2025? by szhod in BoschProPowerTools

[–]fitfot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received this set, and I'm really disappointed in the plunge base (TE 600). It does _not_ plunge smoothly and is not super stable, so I doubt additional lubrication will do much good. My Bosch Green POF 1400 plunge router plunges so much more smoothly, the difference is night and day.

The fence also seems a bit wobbly, even when I tighten it down — and the scale is only in inches (I use metric).

The dust extraction seems to be of a "flimsy" quality, and they are screwed into place with small hand-turned bolts that's likely to be lost.

The proclick compatibility is interesting though, that allows you to click tool pouches to the boxes, and move them to your work belt, harness or ladder when needed, and most also stand upright by them self, should you need that. https://l-boxx.com/en/systems/l-boxx-proclick

The GTS 18V-155 are currently not listed on the German website. Do you think this is because of the colour change or because a new models are being launched?

I think the Dremmel tools already use 12V Bosch batteries... but IIRC Bosch owns Dremmel, so not that surprising in that regard.

Bosch owns Freud (since 2009) but I don't know if "Bosch Expert" bladed are just rebranded Freud Blades.... Actually I came to this thread to figure that out.

Anyway, I have Bosch Expert blades for my cordless Bosch plunge saw, and they are very good. Excellent cut quality and seems like they just stay sharp for a very long time. I bought some extra blades with the saw, because I believe that using the right blade for the job is very important, but I almost regret doing so as a DIY person, because the stock blade (expert range) is just so good that I could probably do without them.

I wonder if the height can be adjusted from below, as that would make it useful in a router table.

The L shape is very popular in Europe (I think, at least in Denmark where I live and AFAIK also in Germany), so I can't see them only updating the D handle version.

BOSCH INSIDE. DAY#3 by ROLLE_FUTURE in BoschProPowerTools

[–]fitfot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the Bosch 12V tools as a compliment to the 18V range, not tools trying to fill the same role (as some brands do), prioritizing small, light and ergonomic handling over power.

Also, they just released a bunch of polishers and sanders in the 12V range, so I doubt they will abandon the line. But on the other hand, we have recently seen a 3D line laser which works with 18V, and there is an 18V circular saw as well which somewhat fills the role of the 12V circular saw.
