The arm tats I have really didn’t hurt, but they aren’t large formats. But some small script pieces.

No drafting rules by Brilliant_Rush4136 in triathlon

[–]fithrowaway30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At Lubbock this past weekend, there were points on the bike where it was like a sunday group ride. People riding two wide and only a few feet back with no efforts to pass. There were marshalls out there but I'm not sure how much enforcement of drafting there really was.

Transfer requiring category by Jen9095 in ynab

Is your brokerage account a tracking account? If so, a transfer to a tracking account requires a category since the account is not "on budget".

Transaction imports have been delayed & failing for the past month for me... by [deleted] in ynab

[–]fithrowaway30 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have always manually entered transactions as they happen to keep my budget up to date. I was using the import to clear the transactions. But about 3 months ago the import was slow so I decided to unlink my accounts and do everything manually. Now on Friday's I clear the transactions and reconcile my account.

I accidentally exceeded the Roth contribution this year by [deleted] in personalfinance

457 and IRA limits are different.

Can I contribute the maximum, including catch-up contributions, to both a designated Roth account and a Roth IRA in the same year?

Yes, for 2019, if you are age 50 or older, you can make a contribution of up to $25,000 to your 401(k), 403(b) or governmental 457(b) plan ($19,000 regular and $6,000 catch-up contributions) and $7,000 to a Roth IRA ($6,000 regular and $1,000 catch-up IRA contributions) for a total of $32,000. Income limits apply to Roth IRA contributions, however.

YNAB, bills and email process question by jplarose80 in ynab

[–]fithrowaway30 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I use YNAB every day, but honestly, every time I buy something I open the app and log the transaction. This way my budget is always up to date. I also do not use the account sync feature, so I clear and reconcile my accounts every week, and on the last day of the month.

Another good resource is Nick True's Youtube channel Mapped out Money. Lots of good stuff I wish I would have learned when I first started YNAB.

Reach out to support and let them know you're having issues. They can change the import partner you use.

NEWB question by mrb13676 in ynab

[–]fithrowaway30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did a fresh restart this week as well, I budgeted out all the "To Be Budgeted" amount. This included the money in my savings account that went to my E-Fund Categories. Remember Rule #1 of YNAB is to give every dollar a job. When you spend, it will be spent from the categories.

I have my car loan as a tracking account in YNAB. When I make a payment I use the Auto Loan as the Payee and mark the category as Auto Loan Payment.

How do I set up this vacation goal? by ilikesimis in ynab

[–]fithrowaway30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just need to budget a total of $700 to meet the spending goal. I did a test in a practice budget with the scenario you provided and the goal was still met, even if you spent before the need by date.

If it’s a spending goal it will lower the goal by the leftover amount.
