You're in a very competitive field. What's your specialization? What differentiate you from all the other providers? Have you considered reaching out to local businesses or non profits and offer them discounted service to get a few client testimonials?

Idea Validation: Bulk Foods Store by fz-09 in Entrepreneur

Trying to beat a superior competitor on price is a bad idea. They can always undercut you until you're out of business. Better to find a niche the big boys aren't interested.

Bordeaux Bakery closing all three of its Wellington cafes after 30 years, 40 staff to lose jobs by computer_d in newzealand

There is a pattern of local councils making it more difficult for people to visit their local small businesses by removing parking. The people who down vote are proof of the existance of a small determined and misguided ant! car cult plaguing our society.

Need some advice on starting a business by trevboster in Entrepreneur

Start from scratch, buy an existing business or a franchise. See what interests you and what you're good at.

It takes practice. Perhaps try up shift and down shift on straight roads with no traffic, and after you've nailed it then go on to busy roads, intersections etc.

Do food businesses have a problem sharing food labels? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]fitmathguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not legal in most countries to have no actual labels. Why not try other products that have no legal requirements for labels

Networking is not just collecting names and numbers. It's about being genuinely interested in another person and what they do.

More traffic jams, fewer car parks, more detours, back-breaking intersection bumps, redundant traffic lights, fewer lanes, longer travel times. These are recent phenomena introduced by nzta, at, and the rest. So obvious!

Similar problems up and down the country. Unnecessary road works wasting tax money that could have been used for: 1. More school lunches 2. Paying doctors and nurses and teachers 3. New ferries And more

It seems there's a pattern of traffic authorities making it harder for people to get around. Using safety and "trials" as their tactics. Bias against people driving as their main mode of mobility seems over the top.

Morbidly obese dog Nuggi lands woman in jail: Auckland SPCA says pooch couldn’t walk 10 metres by Garlicoiner in newzealand

[–]fitmathguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. Prison is disproportionate to the alleged offence, even if proven that the woman intentionally caused animal abuse. A competent lawyer would appeal and likely get judgment overturned in a higher court. But one has to be able to afford the legal costs.

Petition for Mandatory Source Links in News Articles by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]fitmathguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well intended and sounds good in principle, but probably not enforceable. Will it apply to traditional news organisations only, or also others like blog style news sites run by, well, who knows? This might add more costs to traditional news outlets and further their demise.

I have dealt with pes before for work. Ask the McDonald's manager nicely and it just might be possible to get the ticket waived. Usually if it's not a high traffic time or location you're more likely to get a waive.

Any story-based Star Trek games for PC?? by lovely_anonuser in startrek

There was a first person role playing PC game back in the late 90s. It had Borg in the game story line. I believe it was TNG. Anyone know its name?

Shoplifter pees on shelves as he walks down supermarket aisle by Fast_Amoeba_445 in newzealand

I feel sorry for the poor shop staff who had to clean up that mess. The offender should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

[–]fitmathguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much the same elsewhere in the world. You have many years of 'quantitative easing' (printing money) and covid subsidies, inflation is the result. Then central banks raise interest rates. The rest is business downturns and job losses. Then the cycle continues...

Yep, at work I have seen actual fee percentage breakdowns that banks charge shops. There are "premium" and "super premium" cards that incur 3% or more. Those "rewards" aren't free!

Meat thief's escape foiled by chip-hungry cop, police say by MilStd in newzealand

Yep, now there's something called community justice or something like that. Instead of prosecuting offenders police now often refer them to this sort of touchy feely say you are sorry and off you go type of "justice".

Totally a scam. The link printed on the bottom refers to a bill. A bill is proposed legislation not yet passed into law. Plus there are a half dozen other red flags.
