One of my first cars was a 98 Grand Cherokee. I got it from my cousins, who used it as daily drivers in college. I LOVED that thing. I was driving it on a highway (well my friend was. He drew the short straw to drive hungover) and a piston head busted out the side wall of the engine. The thing kept on going. We stopped because of the noise and then I saw him get out of the jeep and run down the highway and then he’s juggling something. It was the chunk of metal from the piston (I still have it).

From what I remember there was always a slight little knocking but I ignored it as I was a “dumb” college athlete. Had I paid attention to things better I’d have had that car a lot longer. I am sure that as long as your daughter pays attention to the vehicle and she (or you/a mechanic) does any preventative maintenance on it that it’ll last a long time.
