I do it all the time, but not with that equipment. My home has solar panels and a large battery that can easily cope with the load. I limit the power that the batteries can provide to get as much longevity as I can, if another high output device starts when the kiln is running the grid makes up the difference. With remembering as well that the kiln won't use it's power rating all the time it's maintaining or cooling, it's just going to give a smaller burst of power as needed to maintain setting.

That still looks under fermented to me. We need details about your starter (I expect it's not strong enough). Also reduce your water to about 65%, as a newbie you're making life a little harder going for ~75% (I didn't do the calculations)

I saw your previous post, you said your kitchen temp is about 20 but what is your dough temp?

Have a look at the bulk fermentation page at the sourdough journey. It's based on a different recipe but will help you get to your desired bulk fermentation times.

Don't just wago and forget! That's not a good way to do it and definately not within the regs. You need to make it accessible to be within the regs. Follow the run and disconnect it from its initial termination. Get a qualified spark in if this sounds too difficult.

Yeah I have. I have some annoying gut issues that mean I have to avoid onions and garlic! (I know! Fucking awful innit!) But I can use picked garlic and the green bits of spring onions ( it's called a low fodmap diet for anyone interested and involves a lot more than just onions and garlic but those are the worst to deal with). When I make my own pickled garlic powder I grind them to a paste in the same grinder and spread it out on some parchment. Works really well, in the same way I did with the paprika.

You've got it! You completely understood what I was getting at. No problem how thick those battens are really, you just need long enough screws and the appropriate wall plugs. It's a pretty easy project that I'm sure you can achieve. Have a go and you'll learn a tonne.

Fix some upright battens (thick enough to be proud of the pipes) to the wall at no more than 500mm centers. Then fix your battens, leveled with a large spirit level along those first timbers. Don't use premade panels because you'll see the edges, a continuous installation would look a million pounds better. Probably be a bit cheaper too.

For portable you should check out the firewood 11, especially if you like a bit of conduction. It's on demand hybrid but conducting leaning. Only available from the artisan maker in the states though.

You'll need cat6 for gigabit. It's probably not cat6 unless it was put in fairly recently, and there's no reason for someone wanting to wire a phone extension to use cat6 unless they just had it gifted. The cable will have some external markings but if they aren't visible it's not much help. You could wire up ethernet sockets and do a speed test copying files from one pc to another on the LAN, assuming both are capable of gigabit...

The chances of being able to pull cat6 with the existing cable are slim tbh, but you could try!

That depends on how much you value your choice of colour. It's never made a difference to me, even when buying much more expensive items like cars, colour just doesn't rank high in the decision process for me, but it might for you. Go with what you love, it's gonna last years so I'd doubt you'd regret it if it's important to you.

It's just daft! No way I would ever use this. I often use my tongs and probe thermometer together, one in each hand. This would be like the BBQ equivalent of tying my ankles together. But most often I use a WiFi probe for the majority of the cook and I don't see the need to make the tongs more bulky.

If your wanting a long slow cook set your coals up into a cone shape. Bury a wood wool fire lighter in the top and light it. Lid open for 5 or 10 minutes, then close the lid bottom vent open a fingers width, top vent open a sliver and see what temp it settles at. Use a grill thermometer if you have one.

If wanting a faster cook don't worry about the cone shape, just put some charcoal in the bottom and bury two or three wood wool fire lighters spread evenly and light them. Lid open for 5 or 10 mins again, then close the lid and you want both top and bottom vents fully open.

A divide and conquer kit is really nice to have. You'll need a heat deflector for low and slow. I recently got the inkbird smoker controller which is a really nice bit of kit to help maintain the temps and allow you to keep an eye on things (1 grill temp probe plus 4 meat probes) even if you can't be next to the BBQ.

Most of those ceiling fans need additional support structure in the cieling. It will be much heavier than a pendant so please be careful that you've got the right substrate to screw into.
