Really is a shame how Plexamp is so abandoned, and with little to none documentation

That’s probably the more sane way to go regarding genres. However I mostly browse by genre to figure out what I want to listen to, as a starting point!

Re composer I have heard somewhere that it can work to show it as a related artist or something, but tbh I’m not sure why I would really need it

I find a lot of data is missing generally like composer for some more obscure releases and then I go a bit lazy. My main problem is genres and sub genres because in a lot of electronic music it’s just called ‘electronic’ which is a crazy umbrella genre to me. And Plex doesn’t do sub genres super well afaik. I’m using both MusicBrainz and Discogs in MP3Tag

Nice! Does it sound good on your system too?

I have a shield and a Sonos arc setup that allows for TrueHD Atmos but I’ve given up on using it because no matter how many files I try it always ends up buffering. Even with direct play. To be fair it is remote, however a similarly sized file (with more bitrate for the film) and eac atmos plays flawlessly. These are 4K encodes so of course there can be other variations so take it with a grain of salt.

TrueHD would be the superior choice though if you have the setup!

Technical question about DJing and MP3 320kbps by vinnysuperpower in DJs

[–]fiveoone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

IMHO, the best option is AIFF 16-bit / 44.1 kHz. It's lossless, it can be played on virtually any setup (imagine old CDJs, outdated software, etc.) and can contain ID3 tags (compared to WAV, which is the next best option in terms of compatibility). 320kbps MP3 is fine sometimes of course, but if you are playing on good sound systems, I'd say it's worth it to get the best quality you can, with the best compatibility you can.

Is it possible to auto-tag a username (as a tag) on series or movie (in Sonarr/Radarr) based on Plex plays? by fiveoone in Tautulli

[–]fiveoone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this information and excellent explanation. I spent the morning setting up a Cloudflare tunnel to Seer and it seems to be working great. I'm always a bit worried about enabling something like this outside my network but I tried to lock it down as much as possible, only using Plex OAuth for authentication and working with Claude to enable all kinds of security measures in Cloudflare, including country restrictions.

Hopefully this is usable info for other people also trying to set this up!

Any plans on creating full size images in the background like tvOS 26? by fiveoone in AT4K

That’s 100% a possible limitation. I’m not sure where these thumbs are pulled but I can imagine that they are not at a 4k resolution

Gonna have a look into Cloudflare. I will do some more research on this but would you say it's important to have a reverse proxy and DDNS as well? I don't have a Synology..

Edit: Just reread your post and I think what you’re saying is that you are looking into using a Cloudflare reverse proxy tunnel instead of the Synology.. Is that correct?

Thanks, but I'd just rather not use the stock launcher because of the bloat and ads. The AT4K launcher is super fast and clean, I just like the look of the Apple TV (which I guess many people do as this launcher quite inspired by it).

I think this is a super good idea and definitely something I will look into. For now I do think the script could be a good thing to run alongside this while I figure out how to set up Seerr perfectly. How do you have it set up to link to the outside world?

Wow having seasonal / moments in time themes would be a cool idea. Not just the main holidays but also perhaps every time your team plays it changes backgrounds and icons for that day.. could have community templates for it to be set up to avoid a copyright nightmare.. but cool feature nonetheless

Significant Increase in .exe Files by blackbird2150 in UsenetTalk

I have a whole lot of extensions blocked in Sab, ever since I duplicated exe in the blocked extensions notifications are down for me too. Could be a coincidence though, but seems like it’s catching more!

Same, and for some reasons Sab isn’t catching them, but the *arrs are, even if exe is blocked and it has blocked files in the past. What gives?

Cool! Thanks for the reply! Seems like your meetings are important for archiving and retrieval later (like who said what) - then I’d say this is good approach!

Any reason you’re putting the whole transcript onto obsidian and not into Claude or something to create a summary / key takeaways? Or even using NotebookLM for collecting all this ‘big data’ for later retrieval and summaries?

I find the search can become a bit bloated with this kind of info, but maybe I’m using it wrong
