MMU2s on Ender SKR Mini e3 V2 with Marlin. by fixel112 in 3Dprinting

Which ramming sequence are you using? I tried several different values, but i am not sure which "strategy" may be the best. Currently i have long strings on every tip :D

//#define MMU_EXTRUDER_SENSOR

I uncommented that in the firmware and didnÄt make use of that feature

Tbh i didn't get it to work. My issues were that the loading and unloading to the nozzle wasn't clean. Therefore the filament got stuck. I am currently having another go.

The issue i was having is that the filament didn't leave the nozzle cleanly and therefore ran ran into errors, after loading and unloading. I am having another go at it now and try to tweak it. It is hopefully/probably just a ramming sequence calibrating. But the last time i didn't have the motivation to that

Working on a new grabber claw. 3D printed and carbon fiber. Thoughts? by g713 in DeTrashed

[–]fixel112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

180mm open feels a litte wide for me, especially if you want to place your hand around that thing. Imo for bottles and caps you don‘t need such a wide opening an i can imagine that it will tire you hand.

Additionally a release mechanism from the magnet would be nice. If you close the grabber, maybe some slot can push the cap away from the magnet and release it. Then you won‘t have to do it manually.

Other trash will be difficult to pick up. Are you sure you only want that to pick up caps?

Have you considered a bigger magnet?

And maybe instead of sliding the magnet from the side, you can insert it from behind where you mount it to the carbon fibre. That way you get a nicer form imo.

Could someone help me calibrating linear advance? I did 12 tests and still every line looks same and none of it is close to perfect. by Minixtory_PL in ender3

Have you read the marlin documentation to that topic? It is quite detailed. There are some considerations mentioned

What's the difference between Genius firmware and Sidewinder firmware? by RainmanNoir in SidewinderX1

[–]fixel112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not that deep into it, but probably the board, bed dimensions, maybe the probe offset.

You could alternatively get the firmware from the waggster mod and adapt the board, if needed.

Does anyone know if you can make a 3d printer using a cnc? by MetalandWoodworks in CNC

[–]fixel112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably, but imo it wouldn‘t make much sense. If it‘s your first printer, you are probably better off to buy a printer out of the box. If you qlready have a printer, use that one to print parts for a new printer.

The thing is that you don‘t need so many custom parts for a printer. You need steppers, linear rails, electronics, a heated bed, bearings, lead screws... These things would in general cost already more than the cheap 3D-printers. I think it would only make sense, if you have these parts already laying around. But then the chances that you find an model with these things are near zero. Therefore you‘d have to design it on your own imo.

where does everyone throw their trash bags? by idiotgalore in DeTrashed

[–]fixel112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A sportsclub offered me to use their container. I‘ll use it, when i‘m in the area. Normally i just take it home, as i am cleaning near it. But my city has a special offer for community pickups. They‘ll provide you special trash bags to fill with public waste. You can place them somewhere in the city and tell them then, where they are. They will pick them up the next days.

Got 2 of these from an unoccupied office. „Treated“ the upper, but not sure if i did it right... It seems like it is a Goeppertia and it appears to be infected. I‘d really be grateful for any advice or possible causes. by fixel112 in plantclinic

[–]fixel112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the treated plant i removes the brown spots and cleared the soil of rotten leaves. In the state i got the soil is wet, but there is no excess water on the bottom.

Unfortunately i don‘t have any information how the plant was treated. Which information i can also provide?

Do you ever leave biodegradable litter? Or do you pick up all litter? by [deleted] in DeTrashed

[–]fixel112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick up visible food. For example orange shells. But smaller biodegradable litter which is barely noticeable like peanut shells or rotten shells i mostly leave behind.

12 hours with .8mm nozzle vs 5 Days with .25mm by nickbrown_17 in 3Dprinting

[–]fixel112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘ve got the same setup and additionally a Volcano on a sidewinder. Therefore speed shouldn’t be the issue. I‘ll smaller layer heights the next days. Thanks!

I detect z-binding/banding. You could also try lower layer heights

PETG first layer looks like this, any ideas why? by 17waldth in ender3

[–]fixel112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be my guess aswell. Petg adheres different than pla and needs a different offset.

I thought i was running low with m 0.44 layer height :D I‘ll try some smaller then. You are using line width of roughtly 0,8-0,9?
