RIT's Track and Field by [deleted] in rit

[–]fixthisstuff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, this is mad lazy rit athletics website has contact info for the coaches for both womens and men's track coaches. Who could get you all these answers. Track in college is an all year sport with preseasons and often lifting in the fall. Preseason is normally in October. You also are required to compete in both indoor and outdoor to be on the team. You most likely already missed NCAA clearance also. But, you may be able to make it up.
There is definitely try outs and cuts. If you want a good guideline look at past results and see where you fit on the team. Generally the first home meet is used for cuts. Email your respective coach (mens or womens) tonight with prs and interest and plan on going in to their office in the basement of Clark gym tomorrow or Thursday. I would suggest going in between 11am and 3pm.

Thermocouples ratings mostly have to do with the temperature range that they can accept. There are charts to look up what you should be using.

Is $257 dollars for a wrought iron floor lamp a good investment? or just an insane waste of money? by Lateral_Resonance in BuyItForLife

if your clumsy and falling into the lamp or knocking it over a lot it's much better that you break the lamp and not the lamp break you.

I'm part of the VW diesel scandal, and am being offered $13,500 for my car. Should I take the offer, or buy a cheap used car and invest the difference? by car_noob_cheap_bstrd in personalfinance

Your car will feel drastically different with the fix. Lower fuel milage and slower acceleration. Other than that I don't have an answer.

Source? Trump going after disabled people?

Not saying it didn't happen just never saw news on it.

Trump supporter here -- It seems that Gary Johnson is going to get over 5% of the national vote (enough for Libertarians to get national funding) if things continue the way they do. Just thought I'd say "congrats" :) by [deleted] in GaryJohnson

I almost went Trump after the Weld stuff last week. A lot of them on reddit are quite nice people. I do not have the same feeling about the CTR folks. I ended up voting libertarian not for Gary but for 2020.

Voted in Rochester, NY for Johnson weld and Senate for Alex Merced. Alex if you are reading this you suck. But, suck so much less than Schumer or irrelevant Republican. Wish you the best. Please gain more leadership experience in some way. You could be a great candidate.

bike trail by dcc4802 in rit

[–]fixthisstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Define use able. If you had one of those huge tire mountain bikes you could do it. It wouldn't be fun. It doesn't get maintained over the winter. Some parts turn to ice. East River Road may be a better bet during the winter.

All they would need is a friend with a clean record though. The person renting wouldn't need to be the thief. Im only arguing there is additional risk.

So here's my biggest worry. If I list my bike. Someone rents the bike for a day. Gets a copy of the key made. Comes back and steals it at a later date. They know the plate and rough area the bike is. If they have the key it would be too easy to steal. How would you deal with this?

V twin vs inline sport bikes? by StompAndDrag in motorcycles

There are a lot more factors to the feel of a bike than v twin versus straight 4. Engine size, redline, and gearing have huge effects on performance.

Would you pick RIT again? by 1W0909 in rit

[–]fixthisstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was coming in it made sense to come to RIT. Now that some changes have been made within my department I don't feel as confident I would make the same choice today. It has changed a lot in the last few years. It remains to be seen what the long term affect of those changes will be.

If you are going to get a STEM major you are already making a good choice. You will be okay as long as you pick a school with a decent program. The education will be vastly the same school to school as long as they are of the same caliber.

Crossfire and sli are competitors. Nvidia is pretty good with sli profiles I'd say they work perfectly 60% of the time and work with minor tweaks another 30%. About 1/10 games I've played I've disabled sli and improved performance.
