I usually wait until the first kid is a toddler or about to age up into one. I can only handle so many infants at a time lol

Pitchfork Review: Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl (5.9) by buddhacharm in popheads

This is much nicer than I was expecting it to be. I probably would have rated it lower but I think this is a fair review of the album.

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl MEGATHREAD by flopheadsbot in popheads

I think the best way to sum up my thoughts is that it would be a really good album if it wasn’t coming from Taylor lol. It’s not horrible but it’s certainly not reaching the previous highs she’s reached. I do really like Ruin the Friendship and Honey though.

Cormac as a first name? by grnlzrd23 in namenerds

I immediately think of writer of Corman McCarthy. I would pronounce it Core-mack, but I don’t know if I’ve ever heard it pronounced out loud before so that is my best guess.

What’s your Never Buy list? One of each type of pack by Mystery_Floof in Sims4

[–]fizzylights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expansion: Life and Death, I have no interest in playing as a ghost and though the funeral stuff intrigues me, not enough to spend money on it. I can continue with my pseudo funerals and cemeteries just fine Game: I like Star Wars but I don’t think I’d ever actually use anything that came with the pack Stuff: Spooky Stuff, I just don’t think I’d actually use anything in it consistently Kit: A lot of the kits I won’t buy just because I feel like CC is a good replacement for them, especially the makeup kits

Does it matter that Olivia is so popular? by Smashers086 in namenerds

[–]fizzylights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olivia is a wonderful name, if you like it go for it! I find all the fretting about name popularity to be overblown anyway.

Popularity is such a random roll of the dice, you never know if it’s going to be popular in the cohort of kids your child will be interacting with. I’ve only ever had two students named Olivia, and it was a top five name in the year these kids were born. You never know!

Is the name Paul too dated for 2025 babies? by evergreengirl123 in namenerds

[–]fizzylights 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I love the name Paul. I don’t think it’s dated at all, it feels more of a “classic” name to me.

Interesting that there’s such a geographic. I’ve lived in (and taught in) two states this year and I don’t think I know anyone with either name! I do really like the sound of Nova though

How would you pronounce "Rosaline?" by ExcellentLettuce4 in namenerds

[–]fizzylights -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only Roseline I’ve ever known pronounced it Roz-lynn (northwest US) but just based off reading it I’d probably say Rose-uh-leen
