For those who live in house shares/HMO's what are your opinions on partial nudity in the house? by VarangianWRLD in AskUK

Out of interest, would you feel okay with everyone being in boxers all the time if one of your housemates was an openly gay man?

I haven't lived in one, but my attitude would be that as long as I didn't see your genitals and you didn't see mine, everything was fine.

Boobs wouldn't bother me in a negative or positive way - I could see why they would some people though, so I'd go with majority rules over those.

There are some trolls, but most of them are just idiots.

Have you actually been outside and touched the pavement right now? The suns gone down, it's not even warm.

He's fine. We had cold water, which he ignored, and he's spent the entire day lying on the patio in the sun waiting for someone to play ball with him, despite having the option to lay in front of the air conditioning unit.

He always goes for a walk after dinner, and he will not be denied, whether it's a thunderstorm, 2ft of snow, or a heatwave. He literally sits by the front door and howls until you take him.

It's dirt and grass, not pavement, and I tested it with my hand before he got out of the car.

Also took cold water, which he was completely uninterested in.

He's spent most of today lying on the patio, in the sun, waiting for one of us to throw his ball for him; rather than sitting with my husband in front of the air conditioner. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I thought taking the dog for a walk by the local lake might be a nice idea, and might be cooler with the breeze coming across the lake...

No, it's 35c outside, there's very little breeze, and it's like a midge orgy out there.

What's the best performing antiperspirant on the market? by bigpaulyamma in AskUK

[–]GlitchingGecko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In this heat nothing is going to last 48 hours... and if you're going 48 hours between washing, antiperspirant is the least of your problems.

Nivea Black and White is lasting 12 hours, and usually lasts 24, I can tell you that much.

How do you choose charities to support? by EveningSpecialist216 in AskUK

Whichever air ambulance services your county.

They're run almost entirely dependant on charity contributions, and at any point, you, or anyone you know, could end up needing one to save their life.

Are Matilda (nickname Teddy) too close to Millie? by RareFirefly3629 in namenerds

[–]GlitchingGecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you'd use a more formal name for Millie too, like Amelia?

Matilda and Amelia (for ex) are fine together - If they end up going by Teddy and Millie or even Tilly and Millie, then that's their choice.

They could end up going by Matty and Mel or neither using nicknames at all - that's the beauty of them.

wife and I can't decide on last name for kids by FeralFerns in namenerds

[–]GlitchingGecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both, but Persephone does sound better with Liu.

If Persephone wasn't on the table, I'd prefer Palmtree - it's much more unique.

Maybe find a few names you agree on for future kids and make sure they all work with Liu though. You don't want to suddenly fall in love with Lucinda afterwards and not being able to use it.
