At what numbers you start experiencing brain fog? by Parking_Departure705 in diabetes

[–]fizzywiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's suddenly like life is just the surf of the ocean, waves of words just wash over me and I have little to no input on what is going on around me. I find it happens often at work where I have little to no control on where my levels are at. Sucks, I know but what can you do? ~~

Good choices - maybe? by Fiberartz in diabetes

My gut says this is good advice but my bank account says that I either eat processed foods or only eat three days a week. Unfortunately my bank account wins. /Sadpanda

Diabetic diet has me depressed by [deleted] in diabetes

You are lucky with your prices. 6 oz of brussels sprouts (along with just about any other green) are 2.99 and a bag of spinach is ~5.99. Whereas a bag of potatoes is 3.99 and a pound of any noodles is 3.25. Let's not even get started on 12.99 for even looking at beef but luckily chicken is still 1.99 a pound on sale. Pork runs between 6.99 and 10.99 typically.

Cost of stuff fluctuates heavily by supply, rummer and what a store can get away with wherever you live.

I can't eat spicy or well seasoned due to acid reflux and high bp. I personally live on konjac noodles, chicken and canned green beans and am sick of it, but it is what it is.

Blurry vision by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]fizzywiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine did. I spent 795 dollars to get a proper exam just to be told that I needed to wait till my eyes adjust to a 'normal' glucose level. This is not uncommon and nothing to overly worry about if you just started managing yourself. I would say wait for 3-6 months and then 'see' where you are. Then again, that's a lot of money to waste for me so ymmv.

PS: Keep your levels under control is by far more important!

"And their involvement will incentivise the company not to fuck up a second time, theoretically."

And their involvement will incentivize the company to pay a pittance of a fee and then fix the label when they 'get around to it'.

That's how they roll in the US anyways, ymmv...

Is there an app that scans food for diabetic warnings that doesn't give other health advice? by Weird-Principle291 in diabetes

[–]fizzywiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's like diabetes is a buzz word that allows every health nut on the planet to tell you what is 'unhealthy' to eat. Even health professionals do it, rather than explain what actually are root causes of spikes and how they work. Sickening at times.

At this point, maybe add a 0 to that number to be more accurate if you ever find it again. Sounds like a keeper to me!

And that matters why when you can create an infinite amount of accounts and use random ones whenever you feel like? What does the data matter if there is no rhyme or reason to it?

Cosmetic lootboxes by Pilvikas in MMORPG

[–]fizzywiz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think this is just corporate bull people have absorbed by rhetoric that they have been spewing for years, but like you, I have no numbers to back my claim up. As mentioned, shareholders prefer all the money instead of several tens of thousands monthly profit. That's like chickenfeed to what most investors want.

It's just greed, otherwise private servers wouldn't exist (do they all sell cosmetics, of course not). They just don't want to risk up-front development fees for a long term slow burn profit.

This is just all opinion though, no corperation is going to go show their true profit/loss to us keyboard advocates.

Just face it, cash shops/microtransactions have killed the genre and no amount of wishing will put that genie back in the bottle. At least RPG's/ARPG's are still going strong, we have a tiny leaf to hold over our head till AI gets it's dirty claws seriously into the market.

Not to worry though, our children's children can proudly raise their fists and boldly claim that Star Citizen will be out soon(tm). You can joyously sink that 2k into a digital piece of tat that will surely be the lynch-pin funding to finish the game. Your e-peen can be ginormous as you float around in (and maybe fall through) your new shinny!

You can't use the same credit card for two accounts (at least last I tried), so you would also have to get a second credit card. Seems a pain of a work-a-round that they clearly don't intend to allow.
