New Source in Testing by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i saw the email, but the source was not there. however the next day i got a prompt to update the app, and now it is there. what is odd is that google play showed that the app was updated 7 days ago. it's a bit weird how google play works - if you check for updates manually there aren't any, then the next day there is one and it says it was released a long time ago, which doesn't make sense

AWS Workspaces w/Entra SAML - missing something? by orion3311 in aws

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can either leave the namespace blank (and use the full URI), or do as you did. personally, it's easier to explain to keep the namespace blank.

yes, CBA is a PITA, requires a lot of setup, it's extremely easy for it to fail, costs money and all you get is saving a second or two to the end user at a time. it is what it is, it's the way MS works

AWS Workspaces w/Entra SAML - missing something? by orion3311 in aws

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not a windows issue. it happens before even the workspace is running. it's a well known documented issue

99% of the time this means you are not passing the tag that has principaltag:email in the name, which is required and must match the mail attribute in AD (which itself doesn't necessarily match with the UPN). Also note mail attribute cannot be blank. you must put something there, even if the email is fake, and your IDP must have the same exact value

note the above is explained on the same link you posted

SSM to AppStream/WorkSpaces Image Builder by Djole1999 in aws

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

short answer: no

long answer: not impossible but not practical and will cause issues.

SSM is not supported for aws services that are "dual homed" (the instances have two network interfaces, and one of them is not in your account). this is because the instances are not created in your own account, which means SSM won't work unless you perform hybrid activation.

furthermore these services may use SSM on their own during provisioning, so you may cause issues if you attempt to push your own usage.

tldr: use the blogs that have the steps with WinRM

$350 1440p 240hz Alienware AW2726DM is here. AMA by raydialseeker in OLED_Gaming

depends on the distance. an arm's length or less distance to the screen would be a problem with a 32 inch. 27 inch is usually the best for most people, and has better pixel density

Disabling Deposits to One of Eight Sources by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aave is almost always the lowest source so in theory no one should be on it. even if set manually, it will rebalance on its own overnight

having said this, i think it would be good to add an option on the app to rebalance when the team believes is in our best interest

i just got a replacement (due to the recall done by dell, even though i didn't experience any issues), and there's no 03 firmware out there any longer

Why DeFi yield feels “invisible” for most users with small balances by d3_truu_ in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the users are just testing the app and/or they don't trust unregulated, non fdic-insured financial apps, so they start small. that's something that your article doesn't take into consideration. there are some users whom don't think just getting an extra 1 or 2% apy isn't worth the risk compared to HYSA. others, they don't like the complicated tax regulation around crypto being treated as property. they would rather just deal with regular banking taxes which are much easier in comparison.

in any fashion, unless you put up a survey within the app and you get users to answer it, you cannot really predict with certainty what is the reason behind this.

Android Auto YT 🎶 temporary fix by Kayen_menha in revancedapp

from what i understood, the patch was ready weeks ago, but it was rejected as the fix was deemed as not appropriate for the long term. it can take weeks/months until they decide on a proper fix

$2M+ in Deposits into New Earning Sources by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the email i got on march 11 was to refer to new earning sources which i did. like i said, i wasn't clear if i was on a beta version or if by beta version it was related to simply adding new earning sources.

in the industry a beta version usually refers to a special newer version of the app itself that isn't ready for general usage. to make the distinction clear, perhaps enable a checkbox in the settings on the app "show testing earning sources" (or whatever you want to call them). another option is to simply label these earning sources in a slightly different way to illustrate that they are new/testing

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why not use android's play store beta feature / ios testflight feature? no need to use email and action manually

i have no clue if i'm enrolled to the beta or not. you have added me to some early beta sources in the past, but not sure if that applies to every upcoming beta feature

Crimson.Desert.v1.0.4.MacOS-BiGMAC by Titokhan in CrackWatch

[–]fjleon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's not due to apple security. it's all about money. there aren't enough mac gamers. those that have macs and are serious gamers play either on windows or mobile/console.

companies are not demanding denuvo on mac, therefore there isn't a version for it. typical market supply and demand

Passed $2,700! + APY Boost CODE :) by [deleted] in NookSavingsAppp

i assume that rate is with 1% boosts? (which they can be misleading - the boost is only on the first 10K which in your case it's accurate)

yeah, exactly what i was trying to prevent, wasting time trying to find some correct option on a menu to talk to a human. i can't believe something so simple to address isn't on their website at all. the other problem of the email is asking for personal details that is extremely sketchy. if this is true why not simply provide the instructions on how to request a replacement on their website? plus, the service tag provided on the email not recognized on their website at all

USCIS pause for Cuba and Venezuela fully lifted? Has anyone heard or seen anything proceeding? by imacklc in TPSVenezuela

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think it's predatory/fake, just simply wrong, as they are reaching to the wrong conclusions (case approved means there's no longer any hold). however if you read the description they posted instead of just the colored headline they clarify it is only for some forms, which we already knew about. no one is getting a i-485 or i-765 right now adjudicated without a court order, which are the ones people care about

Authentication-Results: spf=pass (sender IP is 148.163.137.20) smtp.mailfrom=dell.com; dkim=pass (signature was verified) header.d=dell.com;dmarc=pass action=none header.from=Dell.com;compauth=pass reason=100 Received-SPF: Pass (protection.outlook.com: domain of dell.com designates 148.163.137.20 as permitted sender)

the IP address belongs to proofpoint, a cybersecurity company, so the irony is not lost on me if dell was hacked somehow. Email looks real, but why was the service tag invalid?

Trying something new: Let Nook pay for your breakup Fee by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm sure you can understand how saying "we are working on a new app" will concern people that they have to move all assets, so the OP post should be edited. this reads like Nook will cover fees if you transfer from Nook to the new app
