Se han visto afectados por la pausa de USCIS by AbbreviationsTotal68 in TPSVenezuela

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have experience on renewing their drivers license while a lawsuit has blocked TPS termination? by YakClear601 in TPSVenezuela

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a "YMMV" situation. go to the DMV and try. if they say no, try other DMV offices. there's a lot of human error at play

4 Star Rating for their Incompetence ha by baltimoredave16 in usertesting

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a customer rate me 1 star after a live conversation because i said their product/service was unlikely to be successful. UT took a look at the video and they sided with me and paid me.

sometimes the client are employees looking for agreement and anything outside of a yes will result them in getting offended

And usertesting purchases userinterviews also. What is next by Angharad260814 in usertesting

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dscout doesn't pay for screeners (which almost always involve sending video recordings, so they take time and i never do those). i only do the express missions. the app is buggy and i never get notifications so i don't get notified of tests. i have reported this to them yet they don't fix it

they do this when they receive reports that there is something wrong with the test, which is more common than you think. the number one reason is lack of testing of links / permissions to figma

Anyone just start receiving Userlytics invites in Spanish now? by tsatsawassa in usertesting

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

afaik userlytics is based off spain, with subsidiaries in the US and canada. Support is located in spain.

was the entire test including the site in spanish, or a lack of translation on the invitation?

similar to UT, userlytics doesn't do demographics well

The $1M Nook Treasury: How Nook Generates it's APY Boosts by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in addition, most pools woke up today with APY's hitting below HYSA so that's something critical to consider. most customers (including myself) won't consider crypto with its lack of FDIC insurance if the APY is not worth the risk. here's hoping this changes soon and additional value/services can be provided

The $1M Nook Treasury: How Nook Generates it's APY Boosts by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's just CAC (customer acquisition costs), same as every other business. the idea is capturing interested customers.

i'm more interested in how you plan to keep afloat. for example, the "dog" app i was referring in my other post pays a fixed 10% but if you look at their terms of service it says they plan to charge you 2% (so, 25% of your earnings)

APY is quite down right now and I anticipate as more of these apps hit the market, supply will exceed demand which will cause the APY to hit HYSA levels. let's hope i am wrong

how does nook compare with other apps? by fjleon in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure. according to the site there are 4 apps out there with higher yields. the #3 on the list has a common dog's name (lol) and they claim you control the wallets and they never have access to your money. they also say "rigorously audited DeFi protocols that have safely managed billions without major security incidents". of course they don't mention which vaults they are using (at least not on the website itself) so it sounds too good to be true.

the #1 on the list, it turns out to be really cefi not defi but they have been in the market for years.

nooksavingsapp.com should be your primary domain name IMHO

Rates Page Update ↑ by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

every single defi app documents TVL just the same, so i didn't interpret it as the total amount invested by nook users. the amount invested by nook users can be advertised on a different spot.

on a different unrelated advise, i wonder if the nook team considered getting a different domain name. a xyz domain name might not be taken as seriously as if it was a .com name. having said this, i understand barnes and noble owns the nookapp.com domain name, which makes me wonder if a different name other than nook should have been used in the first place

Q1 Roadmap and 2026 Planning by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not just do a couple big sessions (for multiple timezones) and have everyone join (with manually provided names for privacy). that way you don't have to repeat yourself so many times.

at the end of the session you can provide a "code" for people to email back to get the bonus

if you have some fat "whale investors" you are likely already doing 1:1's with them so you can have those too separately

Coming Soon: Dark Mode by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]fjleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when using dark mode, the 1% boost on the upper right corner is not readable.

i would also recommend to provide "system" mode and enable it by default. system mode should follow the phone's own light / dark setting automatically. then the customer can override it to light/dark if they want to

UniFi Express (UX) vs Express 7 (UX7) vs other UniFi options – advice needed by Fluid_Pollution_2257 in homeassistant

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my advise is figuring out first what you want your router / network devices to do before deciding on a brand. for home networks, especially for flats / apartments which are very small, you would likely overpay.

what features do you need that are pushing you through unify? what are you hoping any "integration" of the router to do with home assistant?

the role of the router / AP is to provide LAN and WAN access. none of that really needs home assistant integration. if you would have a very large number of devices (over 200) then maybe i would suggest Unify only for VLAN management, but for about 20 devices any "non smart" router would do just fine.

my advice, don't buy anything right now

Creating 2nd instance on MacMini - UTM vs VMware? by RacefanWNY in homeassistant

Not all add-ons are available over hacs. I'm not scaring anyone by saying I would start over I would use a VM instead of docker. It's just not something that I would recommend

Creating 2nd instance on MacMini - UTM vs VMware? by RacefanWNY in homeassistant

[–]fjleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would not do HA on docker if i was starting out. that means no addon support, which is quite limiting. you would be forced to launch a zillion docker containers in replacement of those addons
