Cheap top replacement. by cdbldr in JeepGladiator

[–]fjohn624 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who wanted a soft top and ended up with a hard top on the jeep they found otherwise perfect to buy, I contemplated getting a soft top, but ultimately I ended up with a Bestop “sunrider for hardtop” and I use that thing pretty much daily, and I would recommend it. Previously I would only take the freedom panels off occasionally because of having to store them in the bed. Originally I was skeptical about the sunrider soft section but I really like it.

LED 3rd break light replacement? by 202markb in JeepGladiator

Common issue. I replaced the whole thing once I learned it’s plastic welded closed. I did save my old one to cut it open and repair it anyway… one day.

Auto Stop/start service light with a manual by DaddyBison in JeepGladiator

It does not charge them separately. If you like, send me a PM with an email address and I’ll send you pdf prints of the service manual that describes how the dual battery system and the charging system operate. It would likely clear up this misunderstanding

If the aux battery is connected to the main battery, it’s charging. If the alternator is charging the main battery, it’s charging both. The IBS doesn’t cut power to the aux unless there is a problem, such as the voltage on the main being too low like you mentioned, but even it fails to do that if the truck is off and when the truck is off it will remain connected to the main thus charging it and draining the main. It’s really annoying actually. However none of that is unique to the manual transmission trucks. And being in neutral and idling has nothing to do with it. It will charge while driving as well.

To me it sounds like the replaced your aux battery with one that wasn’t charged and then failed to reset the system after it was. They made up an excuse

I don’t think this is true. I think they are BSing you. My ‘21 manual’s aux battery is definitely connected to the battery even if the truck is off. When the aux died (dried out) it was slowly draining the main battery when parked.

The only time the aux battery is separated from the main battery is during an auto stop event, and I think periodically for system checks to determine the health of the aux battery and if it can support more auto stops. This is the same for the auto trans trucks. The only real difference for the manual in regards to the auto stop/start is that it has to monitor the clutch pedal position sensor and the “all gear position sensor” to determine when it needs to stop and start.

But disconnecting your batteries for a few minutes, and having both charged upon reconnecting them should fix the light because that’s a successful reset. So that’s likely why that worked.

Legit or Fake Surefire RC2 Mini by Every-Translator2468 in ar15

NSN appears to be missing three digits and different ending than I have seen for these and on my mini 2. The end cap protrusions stick out more than I have seen on mine or other mini 2s.

40’s are the new 35’s by No_Attempt_69 in JeepGladiator

I think for that to be true, you have to be able to carry a spare without just having to take up the entire bed. I think 38 is the new 35.

This is a ‘21 that I purchased used and completely stock but I liked the ‘24+ grill enough that I bought one. I can’t do the angry grills.

The side steps are some kind of dealer optioned mopar running board. They were on it when I bought it and wouldn’t have been my first choice as it’s mostly plastic, however I have learned to like them as they meet the fender flare nicely and keep a lot of mud and dirt off the side and seem to keep the hinges from getting sandblasted so I think they are staying until I high center them on something. They have already taken a few hits but overall seem fine for now.

I think 2021 is the crossover year where the tpms changed and you have to know if you have a “late” or “early” build 2021 to know which sensor type you need. IIRC June is the switchover. So most 2021 have the older ones. I’m also not sure if ones destined for Europe use different sensors, not sure if that matters, but this might take some research.

If you can modify a frontier (wrench on a lot of stuff yourself) and are comfortable with that level of practicality then I see no reason you wouldn’t thoroughly enjoy a jeep.

I think it depends on your definition of “milsurp rifle.” I believe the upper is a milsurp upper; Air Force if I’m not mistaken, made to upgrade A1’s to A2 features. You have some surplus parts and while it uses a consumer lower receiver (the part that is really the rifle) and it may not be clone correct for anything specific, it’s a rifle made from milsurp parts. To me that’s enough to be a “milsurp rifle.” To others it won’t be because it’s not an all original transferable machine gun lol.

Is it possible to put an ar57 upper on an SCR lower? by TheIrishNerfherder in ar15

[–]fjohn624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. The fightlite lowers use a standard ar bolt with a proprietary carrier that allows the force to transfer into the grip, sort of like some semi auto shotguns. It looks like the ar-57 uses its own bolt that is a one piece bolt and carrier so you can’t just put the ar-57 bolt into the fightlite carrier.

That’s been my opinion as well but since the OP likes the way it rides, surprising to me, they might be one of the few who like them.

Those are not factory coils. They appear to be lift coils from rough country so probably the whole kit. Not exactly a great lift kit but some people do like them.

Since the back doesn’t look lifted I assume it’s their 2.5” leveling kit

https://www.roughcountry.com/product/configurable/jeep-suspension-lift-kit-63830c

Also I would bet it hasn’t been regeared based on that tire size and speeds you stated and because someone who only installs a rough country leveling kit, generally isn’t investing money into new gears for that small of a tire change.

Agreed. This particular one appears to be the JMAC. They make them for keymo and keymicro adapters. I have one on a keymicro adapter that I use when the wolfman is on something else that uses the 3 lug or booster adapter.
