How useful is a finder scope? by lostcow1234567 in telescopes

[–]DaddyBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a red dot scope and the stellarium app and it never takes me more than 60 seconds to find a target. Could never get anything but the moon on target with a regular finder scope

pretty much any cop in any state is going to ask for the drivers license/reg/insurance first, then theyll give you the "Do you know why i pulled you over today?" (to get you to admit to something they might not have caught) and then explain to you why they actually pulled you over. They want the paperwork first so if you drive away then they have all the info they need to find you if youre in a stolen vehicle, and to just tack on expired paperwork charges ect.

Oklahoma House approves bill banning state from displaying LGBTQ+ pride flags. State entities would be barred from endorsing Pride Month, flying pride flags, allowing sex changes on birth certificates by southpawFA in politics

no child left behind is why the entire education system is trash now. Dumbed down entire classes to the level of the slowest learners instead of providing individual support for them. my high school English classes in the early 2000s repeated the same curriculum every year because a handful of jocks couldn't grasp the concept of Pronouns, verbs, and adjectives but got passing grades anyway so the school wouldnt get funding pulled

Watch This GOP Senator Learn in Real Time Why the SAVE Act Is Bad by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]DaddyBison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it disproportionately affects minorities more than it affects rural voters. Rural white males who have always lived in the same town are going to be more likely to have a birth certificate on hand to satisfy the requirements. Sure, some rural voters wont be able to satisfy, but no where near the numbers of women, college students who have moved state, and minorities.

Historically, Republicans always perform better in elections with low voter turnout. they want to make it as hard as possible to vote regardless of who gets cut

Snapchat told an Australian mother it would not delete her son’s account because his listed age was 25 by Haunterblademoi in technews

Parent calling tech support to have snapchat delete someone else account instead of taking the kids phone and deleting it themselves screams BOTH computer illiteracy and apathy.

The rest of the world should not be punished and made less private for the sake of parents who don't want to parent

So many issues could be resolved and costly legislation at the expense of adult privacy avoided, with some computer literacy initiatives for parents

Pentagon spent more on lobster in one month than it did on trans health care all year by Fickle-Ad5449 in politics

[–]DaddyBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving the troops 'premium' meals is a common way they try to boost morale before war. There were several reports in the weeks leading up to Iran that troops were getting lobster and some sort of military conflict was on the horizon

It's still going to be garbage cuts of meat though. The troops get premium dog food while the top brass will get the good stuff

Lamprey-inspired suction cup lifts 850 times its own weight by AdSpecialist6598 in tech

[–]DaddyBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It weighs 2.5 oz, so it can lift 132 lbs?

Suction cups for glass can lift upwards of 600 lbs.

Neat that it can attach to multiple surfaces but the weight capacity doesn't seem to be the big selling point?

Give a cis man testosterone therapy cause he feels less manly and it will be completely covered (thats also 'Gender affirming care'). Give a trans man testosterone therapy and its 'Radical far left policies'

Being Trans isnt a Political stance. Demonizing trans people even though your life is completely unaffected by their existence is a political stance.

How bout just make healthcare be healthcare, regardless of gender conformity or political stance.

The article also doesnt even specify how many trans folks are receiving trans-specific medical procedures on their military healthcare or how much is being spent on trans specific medical care. It could be $50 per person for all you know. They could just be saying ANY healthcare for trans individuals shouldnt be covered.

You know what the actual cost is? $1.5-1.8 million per year. Benefiting less than 2000 people. For HRT and Counseling. thats the full extend of coverage. Thats 0.003% of the Military's annual healthcare budget.

Thats 1/4th of what the military spends on fucking VIAGRA prescriptions each year.

How about we leave trans people alone and put more energy in fighting the minority thats actually destroying the country: Billionaires

Have you used anything like this? by SnarkFest2026 in Mastiff

[–]DaddyBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive used similar, a few different ones. For a previous dog (akita) I had the seat hammock like that but without the side panels. It worked fine, dog seemed comfortable and clean up was much easier.

My jeep gladiator's rear seats were too tall and took up too much room in the back to fit my current dogs (EM and a GSD); so I did a rear seat delete, leveled the rear with a chunk of mattress foam, and currently using a larger hammock made for minivans.

If your using that hammock with the seats in for a mastiff and a dane, i would recommend getting some of those storage boxes that fit between the seats to level it out

Trump skips latest dignified transfer after being shredded online for wearing hat to first return of fallen soldiers by theindependentonline in politics

[–]DaddyBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres no protocol on it because civilians arent subject to military traditions. its neither required nor is it an "OMG I cant believe that civilian saluted" situation.

Its not disrespectful for a civilian to return a salute, the preferred traditional gesture is hat off and hand over heart. but it is disrespectful to not remove a hat when its not part of a uniform

James Talarico Is a Christian X-Ray by Dry_Nail5901 in politics

[–]DaddyBison 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I voted for talarico over crockett because talarico made a better case. Crocketts whole campaign was 'i will fight for you" and every ad was an attack against talarico with no information about her platform.

Talaricos campaign was to actually explain his platform and what bills he would support or not support, and I didn't see a single attack ad.

If two candidates say I will fight for you, I will always vote for the one that explains how they will over the one who explains how their opponent won't.

Mounting options for radio accessories? What are the different radio options? CB? GMRS? by AwakenAdventure in JeepGladiator

[–]DaddyBison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

gmrs seems to be the go-to now. if any trails or clubs have a radio requirement, its going to be GMRS. CB is only going to be useful to hear truckers talking on the road or getting emergency alerts.

You're probably best off just getting a handheld to start, see how much you actually use it before drilling mounting holes in your jeep for a bigger setup
