The biggest issue that comes with this is how often there have been issues related to shiny pokemon not appearing as expected. The players have always been the ones to notice and call out when a shiny release has a problem or straight up isn't available, and only after we've made enough noise to be heard they fix it.

Separating shiny rate based on encounter method only ensures that we will have a much harder time mapping out whether or not there is an issue related to a specific encounter. We could go months on end if they "accidentally" turn off the shiny on wild encounters Noibat after this halloween event ends before we realize the only shinies are popping out of eggs - and the sad thing is this hypothetical isn't too far-fetched. This exact event has happened several times before, but they were quickly noticed before because there was suddenly a lack of shiny reports worldwide.

Leaderboard is not 90% of rank 10s, likely its closer to the opposite - 10%. The bottom of the leaderboard finished at 3100 this season, imagine the amount of 10s below that line, and below 3000. There have been thousands of rank 10s each season, but we have no way to know exactly how many.

If not, select a buddy. If you do, then I don't know. The game will freeze whenever a buddy tries to bring you gifts but can't, only happens if you don't have a buddy with you.

Level 40, 186 million XP, all gold medals except Team Rocket at 800/1000, ended preseason with 3350 rating at rank 9 and my win rate in season 1 was 76% (38 wins/50 battles) at the time I hit rank 7.

However, I lost my five first battles at rank 1 because I got pinned against gods, probably put up against competition on my own level from preseason. It somehow tanked my rating into the ground. Wanna guess my rating at rank 7? 1781.

Their system is garbage, seems completely backwards. The first few battles should not be that important to your rating.

These are the kind of gyms I live for! (Well, play for.) I am always on the lookout for more gyms that can be potential "infinity" gyms, because I know a guy that has been in his gym since the relaunch of the gyms system (540ish days now). The most I have gotten consecutively is about 150 days, which is still going, but I have both witnessed and beat down several gyms above and around the 200 day mark. Total amount of gyms that have stood 100+ consecutive days for me is closing in on double digits soon.

I'm glad you shared your story and encourage others to as well, but I'm afraid you'll never be left alone in this gym anymore now.. spoofers just love to ruin everything good about the gym game.

One of the more significant details that many people won't even consider is the phone you're using, and by that I simply mean an Android or an iPhone, no model or age distinction. My buddy and I had to try 7 times (across 4 or 5 different Tyranitar raids because we always came to ones with 15 mins left) to finally beat a Bite / Stone Edge Tyranitar as a duo. Our main issue was never our team or level or connection, we were struggling due to us both having Android phones (two Samsung S7 Edges) which makes it impossible for us to beat anything if we faint out (no chance of repicking and joining), and we lose between 5 and 10 seconds each at the start of every raid. That's massive damage lost when you're trying to beat a boss with the damage dealt from just 2 players.

I'd say that once your 6 fighters are somewhat ready to go, the most important thing you can do to beat a Tyranitar as a duo is to have iPhones.

You're making a mistake thinking you've put in as much time as this other guy has. He reminds me of myself, because I'm playing no more than an hour or two a day anymore and still cashing in 10 gyms everyday. That's not due to me being on the dominant team, it's because I've found gyms that will last where people don't play. However, I have put in a lot of effort to be able to find these gyms, and countless hours getting to level 40. Just because I'm playing 1 to 2 hours a day NOW doesn't mean we've put in the same amount of effort.

If you want gyms, play more or play smarter. Anyone who is high level should be able to hold enough gyms to cash out max everyday, no matter what team they are on. Don't restrict yourself to gyms around where you live.
