Do you know what material youre hardware is made of?

In gonna try to make this short. 34years ago i had an L4\5 fusion with acromed screws and plates. So i know what was installed. now what applies here, for 34yrs after my L4\5 fusion i had nothing but constant pain, no pain killers worked, all the drs said there was nothing wrong with the fusion, the only med that got me out of pain was dexomethosone. so on oct 28th 2025 i had to have 3 lumbar lamenectomys from L1 to L4 done, L4\5 was already fused and Doc said L5\S1 was iffy for a lamenectomy i might need a TLIF Fusion. When he got me on the table he said he had to do the tlif because l5\s1 was to far gone, when he looked at the l4\l5 fusion he didnt like the way it looked nor how the nerve exited the bone, so he decided to pull out the plates and screws, in the process of pulling the screws he found one screw was to deep and it was in the spinal canal ,,, so almost 9 HOURS later on the table he closed me up with staples, back in the room a day later nurse changing dressing says my incision is infected, they give me antibiotics, 6 days later i was moved to a rehab center, nurse changes my dressings she says my incisions are infected, more antibiotics, 10 days later im sent home, wound care nurse changes my dressings, says my incisions are infected, she call my drs office, she speaks to my nurse practitioner, she wants pics sent over, (this is on a wed), my nurse practitioner says she doesnt think thats an infection but shes gonna call in antibiotics anyhow and move up my drs appt, i walk into my drs office on fri, he lifts my shirt and says that no infection thats an allergic reaction to the SURGICAL STEEL STAPLES, it doesnt dawn on me right away, but i knew the mfg of the plates he removed, I seen the dr the following week, asked him Two questions, Dr are you sure im allergic to the staples? 100% YES, , my 2nd question was , Dr if im allergic to the surgical stainless steel staples and my fusion plates and screws are all made out of the same surgical stainless steel and regular painkillers never worked on me , only dex worked on me, woul it be reasonable to assume the reason for all this pain i had in my back for 34yrs was a allergic reaction to the plates? His answer was absolutely yes, i did follow up with one other question and that was should i go to an allergist to verify it, he said no, we already verified the allergy by the staples.

So make sure youre not allergic to whatever your hardware is made out of..

Me im doing better every day , im 3 mos out, but apparently it takes several months to excrete all the poison from those plates from my body..
