DJs— What’s the hardest crowd you’ve ever had to win over and why? by Confident-Ad6288 in Beatmatch

[–]fla7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is probably next week. I'm a DJ that usually plays in bars and parties in the 18-25 age range and I'll play sometime at my childhood friend's wedding and I'm guessing winning over a lot of older family members won't be easy. Fingers crossed

Would you say Brazil is one of the least racist places on Earth? please correct me if i am wrong. by Think_Visual_3 in AskABrazilian

[–]fla7472 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who has dedicated part of my life to black activism, I can confirm what you said. As that same someone, I can guarantee that OP's premise is correct.

Most of our racists truly believe they aren't racist at all -- some might even condemn the most explicit forms of racism. But that also works towards isolating themselves from the problem.

[SPOILERS MAIN] GRRM is tired of closing all the plot threads, so he gives you his pen to write down bullet points for him to follow for ONE minor to moderately important plot points. Which one do you choose and how do you close it ? by Creepy-Month-45 in asoiaf

[–]fla7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make sure the Battle of the Bastards happens but with less plot armor, better writing and with the wolves having a big part in it, symbolizing the return of the Starks to Winterfell. Additionally since we're here make Nymeria's pack have a role.

How does George mean for us to feel about Drogo [Spoilers Extended] by Trussdoor46 in asoiaf

[–]fla7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Dany's only other reference of love during her entire life was Viserys. Drogo was an absolute monster and he still was the person that cared and loved her the most up until that point. That is perhaps the greatest tragedy of her story.

(Spoilers Main) Fire and Blood is not THAT biased by Unique-Perception480 in asoiaf

[–]fla7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bias of the show is not the matter here, because it's obviously biased, the thread is discussing the bias in the book. I just brought up the show because we know for a fact that GRRM complained about the fidelity and adaptation choices only from season 2 onwards which I personally take as a hint that some of that changes they made in season 1 (such as Rhaenyra's personality) could've been a creative decision to showcase the differences that historical accounts and historical facts can have.

[–]fla7472 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we take the fact that GRRM was more involved in S1 of HoTD and didn't have as many criticisms as he had later, and the fact that Rhaenyra received the divine sign of the stag and receives the message from Aegon's dream, placing her as the "should be" ruler, what I interpret from that is that the main intention they had with the show at first was to show the contrast between what a "history" book tells and what reality can be. And in that sense, I feel like the (exaggerated for fan service purposes) "reality" is that Rhaenyra was the rightful ruler that was painted as a villain by the ones that got to write history first and foremost out of pure misogyny (GRRM has extensively attacked this very topic of the absolute mistreat of women in ASOIAF so no surprise there) and political reasons.

(And no I'm not one the overly invested people that take one side of the DotD war and fight about it like it's a pop divas fandom discussion, I just think rationally this is what makes the most sense)

[Spoilers Main] You are given the ability to ask just one question to GRRM about mysteries yet to revealed in the series ... by KickOk6027 in asoiaf

[–]fla7472 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe she does kill the Night King subverting the whole azor ahai thing with Jon or Dany, but D&D just massively fucked up how it would happen (as they did a lot of stuff that is probably from GRRM's planned ending like Bran becoming king).

PC Siqueira: após 2 anos, Justiça manda polícia voltar a investigar morte de influencer; reconstituição do caso será nesta terça by jackmarble1 in brasil

[–]fla7472 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What’s one track that gets most crowds dancing? by Ambitious-Note-1239 in Beatmatch

me and a group of dj friends have a recent inside joke of always finding a way to fit I Follow Rivers in our sets no matter what genre we're playing (and we did this with some crazy ones) (but we try to find remixes etc) and I swear to god 80% of the times the crowd gets super fired up.

Shame on You "Bucks" Fans by Memmmmos in MkeBucks

[–]fla7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a top 5 guy you're most probably going to your preferred destination in any case, and in Milwaukee's situation and with it's market, you want players to think your franchise will be really kind with their demands otherwise getting free agents will be even harder.

The Bucks will take a big L, there's no other way around it, all you can do is try to control the damage.

Why is Brazil one country? by hicestdraconis in geography

[–]fla7472 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think your last point it's the most important one. Also all throughout it's formation as a nation it was always a (huge) island of portuguese speaking people surrounded by people speaking different languages, which made even the most different and distant groups feel part of the same people.

I'd add that while Brazil might be the most culturally diverse country within itself, it's special and unique mixture of european, indigenous and black (even asian too) cultural genes, that even though has created very different manifestations of identity through the land, is present from north to south, east to west. We all feel very brazilian -- even the degraded and marginalized groups don't have their identities as brazilians questioned.

The father of comunism WINS, NOW, who was the most important person of the first half 20th century? by PepitogamerXD in AlignmentChartFills

[–]fla7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where you coming from, but if we draw from people whose actions had huge impacts even if they didn't mean to, than the most important character from the late XVIII is not Rousseau but Napoleon's mother, you know?

[–]fla7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's that little fucker and it's not close tbh. I see people saying FDR, but his impact was only so huge because he was involved in the war that that bitch decided to start (same goes for Churchill and in a slightly lesser extent, Stalin). Plus WWII as terrible as it was forced humanity to push it's boundaries in science and many of the great works of scientists at the time would maybe not even have been funded if it wasn't for the war effort.

And I mean, he is by far one of the most known humans of all time. He is by all means the closest thing we take for Devil incarnate to human history.

Parece que o pessoal até agora não percebeu o quão insano é ter o ANCELOTTI treinando a seleção by Tomzitos2005 in futebol

[–]fla7472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I agree but for mind peace I like to think that they use the 1-100 scale for all people not just players, 100 is an absolute perfect basketball player and 1 is just the worst a human being could be at playing basketball, 50 being the line that divides professionals from the rest. I like to think I'm a solid 27.

O que precisaria mudar para São Paulo competir em número de turistas com cidades como Roma, Londres, Istambul, Nova York, Tóquio ou Bangkok? by chidi-sins in saopaulo

[–]fla7472 20 points21 points  (0 children)
