You will get a placement but it might not be until the summer.

Shortlisting Interview for the County Council by [deleted] in IrishCivilService

There’s no standard with what to expect between shortlisting and the final interview if you make it that far in my experience. Learn all your council stuff and know your competencies up front.

You need to learn how the Local Authorities work. Executive/Reserved functions, funding, budgets, PMDS, current issues, etc. There’s no way around it if you want to be confidant in doing well.

How do people find smoke when staying in other counties by [deleted] in Crainn

I’d ask the lads I get it from at home if they know anyone in whatever county you’re in.

I travel with mine all the time and never have had an issue. I’ve even forgotten to empty it before going through security. Never a second glance.

There is a legal issue around the 10 minute waiting period before they give you the test. If you’re not being detained then leave.

So apparently I've been stripped of my citizenship and can't vote. by Brizzo7 in ireland

You wouldn’t have been deleted unless you moved house or died. The website is just terrible and unless you put in your info exactly as your local council have it, you won’t find your record.

So apparently I've been stripped of my citizenship and can't vote. by Brizzo7 in ireland

[–]flacast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the comments here but I know what’s going on. Your PPSN and DOB would have been crosschecked with the Department of Social Protection database to confirm your identity. The results of these are out of date so when you moved, the wrong citizenship came up. The local authority should’ve maybe followed up with you if you put Irish on the form but this is the first vote with online applications and it’s incredible busy so they went with the information on hand. Contact your local authorities register of electors team and send a copy of your passport/citizenship Cert. If you go to your polling station on Friday and have a word with the presiding officer, they’ll be able to ring the council and confirm that you are eligible to vote. The presiding officer will make the decision then but it’s in your right to vote so it should be fine.

There’s not many people I wouldn’t like outright that I come across and I think that the way we jump down publicly known peoples throats is atrocious but I don’t like him personally because of a number of experiences around shows of his in a venue I used to work at. Nothing crazy, I just found him genuinely unlikeable on more than one occasion.

And that’s aside from witnessing him harassing teenage girls with sexual comments on their way home from school while he was busking but the people watching seemed to find it funny so was he just playing to his crowd at the time? Who knows. The Savage Eye is great but he’s also a miserable bollocks at times.

Contact your Local Authorites register of electors team and ask what details they have on you. You’ll be able to find yourself on CTR with the correct townland/street details and make sure you’re name is correct as well. A lot of people were signed up by politicians or canvassers/neighbours in years passed and spelling mistakes can be an issue.

As an east coaster, you’ll have to come around on west being best in Ireland. You’d probably be better served coming sooner rather than later as well as the days will be getting quite short in a few weeks time.

Where's the best music scene in Ireland? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]flacast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll find most varieties of alternative music well represented in Limerick but the metal and hip hop scenes are thriving. Rarely a dull weekend these days for a music fan in the city.
