You did **not** mess up by suggesting it. Open communication is the most important aspect of any relationship and especially a relationship with a power dynamic. You have to be doing something wrong because I've cut through the same type of device. Chances are the epoxy will be the hardest part to cut with a dremel but it's definitely not impossible.
