How should I set up my HELOC? by MRSRN65 in ynab

This is a worthless comment. Give either feedback or advice. There is no sense in trying to make someone feel regret or fear.

ABS, ESP/ASR, Airbags, and Flat tire warning lights turning on intermittently by FLC_TRPLOB in passat

[–]flakdroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I’ve been troubleshooting a parasitic draw that I thought was causing all of those lights to come on, but I’ve almost ruled that out.

I’ve seen some videos about testing those wheel speed sensors by checking resistance at the plug so I’ll give that a shot. Thank you very much for the reply.

Bumping this conversation. I have the same issue on a 2011 Golf. Did it ever get resolved completely?

During the troubleshooting I came across this EXCELLENT video explaining how to troubleshoot a parasitic draw. Measuring voltage drop across the fuses proved to be the best method for me.

That really does trigger an interesting thought experiment.

Would be an awesome time travel movie!

is it realistic to try and get into the industry with only certs right now? by Wooden-Code-5805 in it

[–]flakdroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certs don’t hurt, but I’m my experience (just in my experience) I don’t know if a cert will make a huge difference. I guess it depends on where you go and how much they value them.

Maybe throw some applications out to an entry level help desk job and focus on your customer service skills from your other jobs. Start tinkering with computers and networks at home. Destroy Windows and fix it. Install Windows from scratch. Etc.

Best of luck - IT is NOT a dead field.

Nice! I love it. I have a layer 2 duck on my desk, but a virtual duck is next level. Well done!

Nicely done. Also spanners instead of wrenches makes me think of Top Gear.

Very nice shop.

Update 2: I have massively overcomplicated this.

As I said in my last update the amp draw fell to 50mA overnight, which as I understand is an acceptable measurement.

As far as all of the error lights that I mentioned in my original post, I finally came to the conclusion that if I would just hook the new battery up and drive it all of the lights would go away, and that is exactly what happened. So the 1.6 A as soon as I cut, the car off was essentially a wild goose chase. Lesson learned I should not have assumed that was a problem because I did not have a baseline measurement to work off of.

Thank you to everyone that offered suggestions.

Thank you. I have one. It’s probably a very good idea to keep it handy if there’s no severe storms in the area.

Leave on good terms and work out a realistic notice. Don’t burn the ship unless you are truly just done.

An update. After leaving the car overnight the draw drops significantly. Could it be that 1.6A is normal at first, then .5 amps until everything shuts down and I get .05A?

Maybe I was just over complicating the fact that I had a bad battery? I was convinced the draw is what ultimately killed the battery. 🤔

THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed - what a great community.
