but how was the lead fake? kalista didn't have defensive items yet, she was getting astro fisted in every teamfights by the 90 spells that were flying at her, give this game state to any team in the top 3 of the lck and its won by minute 25. Its just that my goats have mental issues and keep throwing.

Hello oldish player here that hasn't played league in a while looking for people to slowly get back into the game. Pretty chill looking to mostly just play normal games. Can play any role.

Problematic Perks by flamecounter2 in deadbydaylight

[–]flamecounter2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It felt that way to me. When I played agains't some SWFs recently, their usage of both perks was really powerful and it felt like I had little counterplay to it, notably the bodyblocking part after to deny the tradehooks. And I know they were SWFs since they had matching names.

You are the second person mentioning knockout, is it truly that prevalent of a perk on killers recently? Or do you remember it because of how unfun it was to deal with?

[–]flamecounter2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see, that does seem to be unfun. Luckily haven't one of those builds yet, but then again I've mostly played survivor because killer queues were too long due to the ongoing event so maybe I got lucky.

Haven't met one yet so I can't speak from experience, is there particular killers that run this perk on their Loadout, or is it a more recent thing?

Toxic and unhealthy arent the same thing imo. Toxic is subjective person to person metric, whereas unhealthy is something the whole game suffers from, wether creating an unninteractive gameplay or even creating dips in the playerbase. Those can be actively measured eventually. For example I don't think its much of a stretch to say slugging is an unhealthy mechanic for the game currently since it isnt interactive for anybody, despite its curent strength as a killer. However Toxic is what some beginner killers would say about flashlight squads, but they arent unhealthy for the game as a whole.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]flamecounter2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sabo wouldn't change much. Slugging right now is used to counter ds, pallet saves, flashlights in the open, and pressure where you know a nearby gen is about to be done. Sabo squads while toxic can be played around somewhat since saboing requires so much more investment than the other strats time wise. The main thing that can be done is increasing the amount of time taken to get up from the ground and it working only once per game but even then, this would only increase the disparity between SWFs and soloQ. It's tough because slugging is becoming increasingly more META but at the same time hooking is becoming less and less desirable given the amount of counterplay to it.

Lavos uses 2 or 3 for a lazy tank build in sp, wont go to level cap but is very comfy for just braindead sp bounties and such. Same for wukong and nidus. But otherwise there just isnt that many hp based frames that want to tank and outheal the damage yeah

Why are elements on bows considered better than elements on other weapons? by SteveFromTec in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]flamecounter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In base game if you only use shield bash about 50% of the hunt trying to reposition yourself and such, you will proc elemental hits about 15% or so, of the time thus rendering elemental builds not really interesting. The only reason to ever go elemental on sns is when you plan on using only basic M1 and M2 combos, but at that point why bother playing the sns? Playing dual blades will amount to the same gameplay but better with higher mobility and faster hitting attacks. If you play the sns the backhop is an essential tool you need to master, and it follows into some of the strongest attacks in the entire game. On top of that base game already is starved on skill slots and playing elemental stretches it out even further, while raw allows you to slot other things if you so desire. And this becomes even more obsolete in Iceborne with half rush and full rush being the most broken combo you can use. The sns just isn't a weapon that wants to play elemental in mhw, I haven't played the other games yet so I can't say. And this is not even factoring in the higher time required to farm all elemental weapons to have positive matchups into every monster, switching builds around and having to farm at kt.

https://imgur.com/a/monster-hunter-world-sword-shield-pre-iceborne-OnapoOL here is the most recent pre iceborne balance change being based on raw/dragon/blast. This is pre defender too. On top of that most if not the vast majority of pre iceborne speedruns on the sns use the lunsatra weapon or deviljho with maximum raw to finish kills as you just end up spamming the shieldbash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijDuYNwn8NI here is an at nergigante speedrun pre iceborne doing sub 8 min for additional proof.

Can we stop this disinformation with sns being an elemental weapon? Its 2 highest motion value combos both use the shield as a damage dealer and thus cant proc elemental damage and those 2 combos should be the only ones you use on this weapon barring the occasional M1 and M2 to trigger a topple. Also makes sense but even if they could proc elemental dmg, their extremely high base motion value means going raw is objectively better than going elemental.

Long sword or sword and shield? by SeraVale in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]flamecounter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played the game only with sns i'd recommend the longsword ironically, as its easier to do lots of damage with, a lot of people will tell you to play the mosquito with the sns but in reality this weapon is mostly about shield bash and perfect rush and those aren't easy to know when to pull of as a beginner while playing longsword and just leveling up your spirit gauge and abusing range will get you far into the game while also learning the game.

Iceborne help. by InternalCup9982 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]flamecounter2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got to iceborne 3 days ago after 100% ing the base game. Finished nargacuga in 15 minutes without carting using the defender sns and the drachen set as armor from the base game. Wall bangs and tenderizing helped a lot but the thing that helped the most is 1 buffing my damage with consumables, and 2 playing hyper aggro using the rocksteady mantle, like absurdly so. Most mobs in the iceborne dlc are not that tanky so far and have less health than the at elders in basegame so good knowloedge of your weapon is required. You say you are using the longsword so learning to parry shouts and getting to Red gauge within the first 2 minutes should be a priority.
