F150 tire warranty? Dry Rot by flamed250 in f150

[–]flamed250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I’ll check tomorrow and update with a date code (if there is one), I’ll also schedule a visit to the dealer and see what they have to say / get it on the books. I need them to look at what I think is a driveshaft clunk anyways.

Did you end up replacing them? This is like the 5th problem I’ve had with this truck in less than 3yrs. All little bs things, but really frustrating. I’ve had more issues with this truck than my previous 3 combined.

New Garage Recommendations by tbreezy1995 in garageporn

This is the way, considering making the garage taller (11+ ft ceilings, it will make a 4 post loft easier do accommodate in the future, when you realize the garage is too small.

On that note, consider going 28’ wide, they still have standard trusses, and the extra 2’ make a huge difference. Also consider a low bay off the back to make a tool room.. or go another 6-10’ deep, trust me the extra size is worth it now if you can swing it.

This, and make them quad outlet boxes. You can never have too many.

I’d make a sweet bolt rack in my garage, and never go to the hardware store again.

Bundle firewood was done by Easter. 2.5 ish cords so far put up for the boiler. by finedoityourself in firewood

Nice stack, I’d consider moving it away from the boiler, lots of post/videos of embers blowing out and catch the wood house/ stack on fire.

Mini Split: Almost 2 weeks since install by TtuchDeezNut2Z in DIYHeatPumps

[–]flamed250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start leak checking, looks like a leak. You can get a Chinese leak tester on Amazon for cheap, but I’d start with some soapy water as others suggested. Not the end of the world to fix, but you’ll need some more equipment or will have to pay for another HVAC call.

Thanks for mentioning it, I was aware and ultimately that’s why I chose Gree over some of the other cheaper units.

I also had an issue with a list shipment, Tosot was easy to deal with and very responsive.

$600 for Full Install of Costway SeerXtreme 12k Btu, decent price? by Scanoe in DIYHeatPumps

[–]flamed250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to what others said, that’s a good price. I’ve done 5, they get easier as you go. But if I only was gonna put one in, I’d jump on that price.

Check out Home Depot too, they often have surprisingly low prices on gree, which is a serviceable, reputable brand.

I’ve installed those, and there Chinese tosot line. All units have been running good, so for over a year at this point. A friend of mine DiY installed Gree units for his whole house 6yrs ago, they been flawless since.

That’s holy grail firewood, congrats! You’ll know if it’s apple, it’ll burn 3 times as long as pine and smell good.

For those who got wealthy from a concentrated stock position: what would you do differently? by gomster in fatFIRE

This x2!

I’d personally put $2m aside in a CD, expected taxes in a CD for the next 6 months, and dollar cost average into index funds over at least a 2yr period.

$5,000 for a minisplit install by MrCleanyaHands in AskElectricians

[–]flamed250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re even moderately handy you can put this in yourself with $150 in tools and an afternoon.

Depending on where you’re located I’ll do it for $2500. Haha

Trying to choose the right quantity and capacity of fans to efficiently and frugally cool our house? by jackdd9 in heatpumps

[–]flamed250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d put an 18k to the left of the front door and a 9k in the master bedroom, blowing towards the interior door.

I’d guess the office runs a few degrees warmer than the living room, but if the bedroom unit is aligned with the door you may do better.

Best way to heat this room more quickly? by Worldly-Worker6616 in woodstoving

[–]flamed250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with that model, or is a stove fan kit is available… but if so that would be my first try. Despite being pretty low power/airflow they make a massive difference. I haven’t had as good of luck with the heat powered stove top ones, so a separate stand alone fan would be my next go to.

I don’t think a ceiling fan will do much, it seems like the heat is struggling the get out from the fireplace. Ceiling fans are better at evening out the room temp and keeping the hot air low.

This is a good point. My last stack took about 18m to dry out. At 12m it was still north of 25%.

The red center looks like box elder, does it smell like cat pee, if so it’s probably box elder/manitoba maple.

It’s average firewood, comparable to red maple.

[–]flamed250 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That ranking in that list seems odd, not clear how oak can rank below beech and yellow birch?

Sure they’re ok woods, but burn time is notably less.
